Under Kalinda Brady's cool silk surface was a smoldering heart waiting to be set afire. But she hadn't expected the sparks to fly with Rand Alastair, artist and fisherman, the stranger whose caresses left her yearning for more. Kalinda had come to Colorado determined to avenge a lost love. She had a...
Kinda reminds me why I don't tend to read Ms Krentz's contemporaries - while her historicals always feature an oddly independent woman and no-one would dare manipulate her into a relationship, the contemporaries seem to have family members all but arranging a marriage. Weird and bass-akward. So th...
.... ha .... wtf? ....By the middle of the book i expected the "good guy" to show up and save the silly heroine from the beating Jordan gives her. It still felt like the guy was on edge when only a quarter of the book was left. And then BAM! they were in love ....Left me open-mouthed and frustrated ...
Sometimes you just need Old School which is what I wanted. Classic Stephanie James - Older hero, experienced, bitter/cold/untrusting, bad with women, uber alpha. Innocentish, determined, positive, naive heroine who saves the hero emotionally.

I slightly disliked the heroine (with her wild imagination and blind belief in rumors)...
My copy of this book is in a two volume Jayne Ann Krentz collection and is the first Krentz I've read. I'll definitely read more. I love a good category romance.
