Stephanie D. Rogers won her first writing award at the age of eleven for an essay on Texas. This was also her first publication.After graduating from The University of Dallas, Stephanie picked out a living as an actress, singer, voice-over artist, and writer. During those years, her short stories and poems were published in various Regional Lit Journals and her performance pieces were staged or used in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Louisville, Houston, and Dallas.After fifteen years of silence, Stephanie began writing again in 2007. Since then, her writing blog, A Crown of Dark Water, has been nominated for a Webby Award (2008), her prose has been nominated for The Pushcart Prize (2008) and her commentary has been honoured (Ploughshares, 2011). Stephanie's poetry has won numerous awards, culminating in the 2010 Poetry Award in Grace Notes Books' Discovering the Undiscovered Competition which resulted in the publication of her first poetry collection, Toms, in September 2011.Stephanie's latest work may be found in her 2013 publication, Persistence, a collaborative effort with poet and artist Keith Landrum.In 2014, Stephanie began to pursue photography. One of her photographs will be featured at Studio No7 beginning 7 October 2014.Stephanie is also a Grief Counselor whose work with death, dying, and loss infuses and inspires her artistic endeavours.
