Stephen J. Binz is an award-winning author of over 40 books, biblical scholar, and psychotherapist. He is also a popular speaker, offering keynotes, seminars, and workshops at national and regional conferences, including the Los Angeles Religious Education Congress, the Mid-Atlantic Congress, the Hofinger Conference, and the National Catholic Education Association. He is an active member of the Society of Biblical Literature and the Catholic Biblical Association. His books in print are published by The Word Among Us Publications, OSV Publications, Twenty-Third Publications, Liturgical Press, Brazos Press/Baker Publications, Little Rock Scripture Study, Loyola Press, and Franciscan Communications. They include Scripture--God's Handbook for Evangelizing Catholics (Our Sunday Visitor, 2014), Threshold to God's Word (Twenty-Third, 2014), Conversing with God in Scripture: A Contemporary Approach to Lectio Divina (The Word Among Us Press, 2008) and Introduction to the Bible: A Catholic Guide to Studying Scripture (Liturgical Press, 2007). Binz is the founder and author of the Conversing with God in Scripture series (The Word Among Us Press), Threshold Bible Study (Twenty-Third Publications), Ancient-Future Bible Study (Brazos Press/Baker Academic), and Lectio Divina Bible Study (OSV Publications). Following graduate degrees at the Gregorian University, the Pontifical Biblical Institute in Rome, and Hebrew University in Jerusalem, he has developed Bible studies in the church for three decades and has offered numerous study trips and pilgrimages to biblical lands. Since 2008 his books have earned three First Place certificates in the "Excellence in Publishing Awards" of the Association of Catholic Publishers and a First Place and Second Place with the Catholic Press Association.
