Stephen is a Fellow of the Institute of Mathematics and Its Applications (FIMA), a Senior Lecturer with Manchester Metropolitan University and was an Associate Lecturer with the Open University (2008-2012). He has twice been nominated for a National Teaching Fellowship in the UK and was instrumental in establishing a Schools Liaison forum in the North West of England. In 2010, Stephen became a STEM Ambassador, and in 2014 he became a Speaker for Schools.His research area is in Dynamical Systems and he is a world class leader in the use of Maths packages in teaching, learning, assessment and research.Stephen is the co-inventor of binary oscillator computing with patents covering the UK and US.Note that all books have accompanying working programs that can be downloaded from the web.
