Just started reading this series and liked it. I am sure I am meant to read the comics that have come before this one to fully appreciate it. Even without knowing Shadowman’s origin story, I wanted to keep reading. So, that’s good. Some scenes:

Beautiful work: the writing, the art, the cover. My favorite Shadowman by far. Baron Samedi has stolen the relic of the Shadowman that makes him far more formidable and placed it in the Deadside. Although Alyssa bitterly regrets sending Jack there, she must, in order for him to be able to rem...

Another gorgeous cover, but not the one pictured. The extras were the same - hey, nice comic, some pencils and scripts and so on and so forth - but I'll continue in digital. Jack may have left the Deadside, but it doesn't want to leave him. Baron Samedi comes after Jack, even as another preda...

Jack Boniface is back after five years in the Deadside and both he and Alyssa have changed. Neither is as young, or even optimistic, as they were before although both still have heroic streaks a mile wide. Alyssa's connection to Jack brought him, and the Shadowman, back, out of Darque's grasp, ...

With Jack Boniface, and thus Shadowman, stuck in the Deadside for five years, Alyssa has to try and protect New Orleans on her own. Having in fact struck out on her own - and in fact having left the Abettors, a society devoted to stopping Darque and mystical evil by helping the Shadowman, she is t...

And Wolverine is one of my favorite characters. I know people think he's a Mary Sue, and I know they're right, but he was one of my first Marvel fixations, and thus I have a soft spot for him. So, basically, the Wolverine Origins issues were better than the Daken one, and I liked this storyline...

Greg Pak is one of my favorite writers. I am now in love with Dazzler and cute baby Kurt and also Wolverine/Hercules? Yes, please.

X-Treme X-Men (Why make it X-Treme... Vol. 2 instead of Exiles Vol. 2? The world may never know.) began to flag in its second half, so it's probably not the biggest tragedy that it wasn't long for this world. I didn't even read the last issue, because it was part of a crossover I couldn't bring myse...

Marvel makes me happy. Really happy. With every comic that I read by them, I get more and more invested in their work. This was no exception. I first got introduced to Wolverine by my older brother. He's been a fan since he was a kid so I knew some things when it comes to Wolverine and his story. Re...

A version of Professor Xavier from another reality pulls together a team of X-Men from various realities in order to hunt down and kill a bunch of evil Xaviers from other realities -- and the only main character from our reality is Dazzler. There's not really a lot going on beneath the surface here,...
