I finished this last night, after the last third of the book really sped up and kept me awake until I was done! I finally think I've come across a YA book that guys will actually like. It's set with mountain-climbing as the main activity and Yosemite as the backdrop; the author, Stephen Wallenfels,...

Picked this up for my son to read, but he wasn't interested. Cabin Fever plus Sci Fi = interesting relationships and situations. Basically enjoyable.

From the start the story really hooked me in and I couldn't stop reading! It follows the stories of two kids who are trapped in very different situations after an Alien invasion, although the things that happen to them mirror each other. After the Aliens have invaded no-one can go outside without g...

Many thanks to UK Book Tours for allowing me to participate in the tour of this book.It is with regret that I have to say I would not have finished this book if it hadn't been sent to me for review as part of a blog tour. However, I ploughed on through to the very end and I was thoroughly disappoint...

Another alien invasion book? Well done! But there’s much more within these pages than just an alien invasion. I know! I wondered about it too; there’s not much you can possibly achieve story-wise if people get zapped by these black ‘Pearls-Of-Destruction’ balls that dot the sky as soon as they step ...

Surviving a massive alien siege is one thing-surviving humanity is another.I'm all cried out. I'm still alone. The sky is full of giant spinning black balls that kill anyone stupid enough to go outside. I've only been out of the car twice-once to pee and once to look at the sky. That one look was e...

I had somewhat mixed reactions to this one. At first I thought Megs was supposed to be quite a bit older than she was reading and then when I discovered that she’s about twelve her character made a lot more sense. Interesting, but I didn’t love it. [Nov. 2010]

Alien invasion told from two perspeectives. Fast-moving and initally engrossing but the narrative grows a bit tiresome and ends with a fizzle.

Pod was actually an interesting story about Alien invasion and the battle to survive.Josh is a boy who, quite frankly, thinks his father is nuts when they are trapped in the house by PODS. He's kind of whiny and questions everything his father does. Even when all his father did was try to make sur...
