Steve McGarry is a British cartoonist and illustrator whoseWorld Cup and European Championship series have been a regular feature of newspapers and magazines worldwide since 1982. The creator of such syndicated comic strips as Badlands, Biographic, Pop Culture and Trivquiz, his clients range from the British national daily The Sun to the New York Daily News, and include such sports magazines as Match, Match of The Day, Bravo, Voetbal International, Sports Illustrated for Kids and Shoot! Based in California since 1989, McGarry is a two-term former President of the National Cartoonists Society, the world's premier organisation for professional cartoonists. He was named Illustrator of the Year by the NCS in 2003, the same year that he became the first overseas artist ever honoured by the Australian Cartooonists Association, who awarded him the prestigious Stanley Award for Illustration. Steve is also the 2012 recipent of the NCS Silver T-Square award for his outstanding service to the profession.
