I got this and another book in the series free as ebooks from the Baen Books site. If you google it, I think it's still available. I was unimpressed by Agent of Change. It was readable with likable characters but seemed to me rather generic space opera romance. Plus, it annoyed me by ending on somew...
As a work of romance, this is superior--as a work of science fiction, mediocre. Which I guess says something about my taste in genres. I do love romance, but not the romance genre. I love *stories* with an element of romance--I do--it's my literary comfort food. But I love great science fiction even...
This is a great story with a lot of subtle layers. It is at it's base a love story. A rather intense love story. But then you add in some intercultural challenges. Er Thom is an heir of the prime clan on the planet Liaden. Anne is a simple scholar from Earth. They meet and have an intense relationship...
3.5 Stars - good book, fun too read, a lot of intersting ideas.I don't like that some people are really good and others only bad, and that everything turns out good after very short periods of time.
This book is mostly about Theo but we will get to see some of our favorites on Surebleak and we lose someone, which isn't surprising because it's been amazing how this family has been able to escape most things unscathed. Good sci-fi series.
Good, good, good book. We still are with Val and Miri and now they're trying to help Korval's oldest friend along with Shan and Nova. I'm glad it didn't end like I thought it would - I was just about to yell out, "Noooooooooo!!!!!!!", but stopped at "N...". I'm loving this series.
There were a lot of mentions of about how plain and unattractive Miri was in this book that I didn't get from the previous book. I loved how this couple/relationship is developing. Very sweet, romantic moments.
I only read [b:Carpe Diem|1103881|Carpe Diem (Liaden Universe, #9)|Sharon Lee|https://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/books/1309201016s/1103881.jpg|1090807] in this omnibus because that's all my library had available. There were a lot of mentions of about how plain and unattractive Miri was in this b...
Re-read, August 2013This book has so much information about the sheriekas and the founding of the LIaden Universe that a fan of the series really must read it. However, it can confusing and heavy going so I wouldn't recommend it until they've read the Agent of Change series. I got even more out of...
4/5; 4 stars; A-I've had this book in my TBR for such a long time and am kicking myself for taking so long to read it. This book was interesting, imaginative, and highly entertaining. I loved the idea of 'Witness' that travelled around with the artifact, the incredibly cool robots and gadgets, t...
