Steven dos Santos is author of THE TORCH KEEPER novels, a Young Adult Post-Apocalyptic series. Book One, THE CULLING, was released by FLUX Books in March of 2013. Book Two, THE SOWING, will be released on March 8, 2014! THE CULLING has been named a TOP TEN Selection of the American Library Association's 2014 Rainbow List.BiographyBorn in New York City, Steven moved to Florida at the tender age of five. (His parents' decision-- not like he took off on his own and said "See ya!") He wrote his first book, "The Enchanted Prince," when he was a second grader. It was a critical success-- at least his teacher, the 'rents, and fellow classmates thought so. Steven has a B.S. in Communications, but spent most of his career in law, even going to law school before realizing if he's going to tell "creative truths," he much prefers writing fiction. Here's the blurb that appeared on November 28, 2011 in the "Deal" Section of Publisher's Marketplace: "Steven dos Santos's THE TORCH KEEPER, about a young man's harrowing struggle to save his younger brother by surviving a sadistic military recruitment -- and facing the horrifying fate that awaits not only each recruit, but their loved ones, to Brian Farrey at Flux, in a two-book deal, for publication in Winter 2013, by Ginger Knowlton at Curtis Brown."To learn more about Steven, visit his website: www.stevendossantos.com You can also add Steven's book to your Goodreads reading list here:http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/12617286-the-culling And check out an interview with Steven here:http://presentinglenore.blogspot.com/2012/02/author-interview-steven-dos-santos.html

Well, this book threw me for a loop. The Sowing sits right in that grey area between a book that is so well-paced that it's a ridiculously quick read, and a book that doesn't quite live up to what you were hoping for. While this definitely wasn't as good as the first one, in my opinion, it isn't lac...
