Steven E. Wedel was born in 1966 and grew up in the city of Enid on the north-central plains of Oklahoma. He grew up building treehouses, riding bicycles, listening to rock-n-roll and engaging in serious debates about which of Charlie's Angels was really the best looking.Wedel has been writing since the mid-1980s. By the early 1990s he was wishing he'd paid more attention to his own high school English teachers because editors were pointing out his grammatical mistakes. He sold his first story, "Unholy Womb", to The Midnight Zoo magazine in 1993. His first novel, Shara, was published by 3F Publications 10 years later, and quickly disappeared when the company went under. Scrybe Press took over The Werewolf Saga series the following year, but that was a rocky relationship that finally ended for good in 2012. Most of that series is now published by MoonHowler Press. In 2008 Wedel met Carrie Jones at a science fiction convention in Tulsa, Okla. The two quickly hit it off and by the end of the year had written a novel that came to be called After Obsession (Bloomsbury 2011). They have since completed two more novels in a new series, the first of which has sold to Tor for a 2014 release.Wedel's other works include the short story collection Darkscapes (Fine Tooth Press 2004), Seven Days in Benevolence and Little Graveyard on the Prairie (both now collected in the volume Two Oklahoma Ghost Stories from MoonHowler Press, 2012) and Amara's Prayer, coming in 2013 from Bad Moon Books.Today Wedel lives in central Oklahoma, where he spends his days as a high school English teacher. He is married to the girl he began dating in junior high and they have four kids, two of which still live at home.

I don’t know where the title of the book fits in with what I read inside the book but nevertheless, the book was just what I needed. The story is written in alternating chapters told from the viewpoints of Aimee and Alan. Alan has just moved from Oklahoma up to Maine with his mother to help her si...

After Obsession was a big surprise for me. I loved the cover and the blurb pulled me in, but I’m getting a tad sick of all these high school kids with no sense. Lucky for me however I didn’t have to deal with the typical teen angst. Aimee was a very level headed girl with rational fears and common s...

***FINAL RATING: 2.85 STARS***DISCLAIMER: I kind of am a bit hard on Ms. Jones in this review. I don't really mean to be; I love Carrie, really I do. I think her blog entries are hilarious, and I think she has some really great ideas for her books. It's just that this is her seventh-ish book, the fo...
