Нудная середина и нудный конец. Я ожидала больше, чем "она его за муки полюбила, а он ее за состраданье к ним". The "comfort" bit of hurt/comfort was overdone, trying to compensate for falling in love, I guess. Once Callisto's new charm was in place to stabilize his condition, everything slowed do...

It was an interesting read. What was there of the world building was interesting, the concept of a wizard doctor and mechanical hearts was intriguing. Mervyn and Callisto were wonderful characters but I hated Denzil and I can't say I'm looking forward to reading his story.

The mecha element to this was very interesting. The balance between the mecha and the fantasy was quite nice, actually. The writing itself was rather reminiscent of the works of Megan Derr (to me, at least).
