I almost didn’t get this book. Near my doctor’s office, there just opened one of those Giant Book Sale Stories. About 90% of the stock is 6 dollars and below. This book was priced as a buck (and at check out, there was an additional 20% off). It was a nice cover. It’s actually a ...
nice middle grade collection of stories. some were darker than I expected from Avi. but I must admit that my opinion of Avi is based on seeing him speak once and reading one of his books.
I just couldn't resist the cool cover.***Possibly not the best introduction to the writing of Avi for me. there was much I found amusing, but overall I found the stories a little to heavy-handed with the moralizing. I prefer my fairy tales to be less linear in cause and effect.
