I have seriously mixed feelings about this book. While it was dorky and funny and I generally enjoyed it, if you look at my status updates on GoodReads, I did nothing but complain. I hate name-dropping and this book was absolutely full of it; the characters were kind of lame and were serious hipster...
Maybe I shouldn't expect every book I read to have conflict in it, but I do. And I suppose this one does have conflict: with the band, with grandpa's increasing dementia; but it doesn't feel like it does. Everything is so easily resolved, so brushed-over. Eh.
Oh, this was fun! The authorial voice was completely authentic- so much so that I found myself saying stern motherly things to the protagonist.
