When Stu was in high school, he dreamed of moving to an island and writing romantic, yet funny, love stories. (Because love is, after all, a comedy. I mean seriously. If you look at how men and women are wired it's obvious someone - God, maybe - loves conflict and comedy. She spends hours getting ready to go out. He goes out to his car in his boxers. She can multi-task and juggle ten thoughts at a time. His gaze hasn't left the television since last time the power went out. ) Although a girl in high school broke his heart, Stu never lost his passion for telling funny stories about his awkward romantic encounters. (Stu once closed his eyes, puckered up and kissed a wall when the girl eased away.) Today Stu is living his dream. While fiercely protective of his privacy (he refuses to divulge the name of the island from which he writes), Stu remains loyal to his readers, giving them glimpses into his pain, while lacing his stories with laugh out loud humor.Stu Summers is an award-winning novelist and the author of "In Heat", "Puppy Love", "Paws On My Heart", "Hound Dog Heart", and "That Dog Won't Hunt" - all of which have been pulled from publication. (In Summers' Love you will learn why his former publisher yanked his books and purchased ALL used copies.) His newest novel, written entirely on his own, is a romantic comedy about a best selling novelist who "outsources" his writing to a church secretary on Ocracoke Island on the Outer Banks of North Carolina. When his "Holy Ghost Writer" goes off the rails and begins writing Amish, paranormal, sci-fi, vampire-laced, zombie-filled, Westerns, Stu is forced to learn to love and write all by his lonesome self. (Yes, the main character is Stu - shameful, I know). But of course Stu is not really alone because this is a romantic comedy with the classic W formula where boy meets girl, boy loses girl, boy gets girl back, boy loses girl again, and ends up with a dog. The girl in this case is Kate Winston, a stun-gun sales person who host taser parties in her about-to-be-foreclosed-upon condo in Georgetown. Kate has serious trust issues but when her taser party gals insist Kate deliver autographed copies of Stu's latest novel, she has no choice but to comply. And thus ... the two are thrown together for a week of fun and fireworks. With Stu's career on the line and Kate's big sale in jeopardy, an unlikely pair of hearts collide, providing a shocking climax at the world's biggest stun gun ball.
