Battle of the Atom has everything I like in an X-Men story. There are 40+ super powered characters that appear in this thing. There are multiple instances of time travel which result in at one point four different versions of Iceman at the same time. There are psychic battles and shapeshifters and f...
I'm not enjoying this series as much as I had been, but I'm a bit of a completist, I'm particularly interested in the next story arc as it involves the silver surfer and I know I only have three volumes left. I'm going to try to power through them tonight and tomorrow night, and then be done with t...
Doom is the focus, and he is cray-cray. It also makes this take a little more enjoyable, and while it still wasn't that original, I just didn't mind. I guess Doom is awesome no matter what universe he's in, then.
I've been meaning to read this, and I never should've waited. It's hilarious and fun, like a rated R version of The Tick - superhero satire that still works as darn good superhero fare. Need some more Monica Rambeau in the world.
A lot of what I like about Miles Morales is here: the young child, struggling to find his place in a world full of superheroes, where he is counted amongst them. He's trying to balance school, his friend Ganke, his girlfriend Katie Bishop and his superhero life. Of course, nothing is that easy....
I wouldn't suggest starting mid-series at this point: the history simply won't make sense. The original X-Men started with Wolverine and all ended up with Cyclops. Laura, aka X-23, is now involved. Having said that, I loved the Purifiers. Or I'm horrified by them, but I did enjoy reading ...
It's fun, it's funny, and it calls into question a lot more than I would have expected. What would you do with a second chance? Who do you trust when everyone is trying to interpret their past and your future to you? Do you go back to your own time or do you try to brave a future where the tech...
Because Jean Grey couldn't stay dead that long, right? I really don't like her or Cyclops as much as, well, anyone at the Jean Grey School, so I was kinda bummed that they were bringing everyone back. But Wolverine and the X-Men kept referencing this series, the kids living there, and so on, so ...
Dysfunctional, hilarious and bad-ass underdog heroes. Ridiculous panels, filled with so much action and explosions that it's insanely fun to read this. Death bears from above. I LOVE THIS.
