Sue Kim has cooperated with several sewing companies in the past including Quilter's World and Simplicity patterns, releasing some of her most popular baby shoes and bag patterns such as "The Black Lily". She has also contributed 7 patterns, which is the most compared to any other designers, in the second edition of the 101 Yard Wonders book. The Fabric by Fabric One Yard Wonders is a book with 101 fabulous projects that can be done with only one yard of fabric. From Author~Thank you all to the readers of this book! When I first received the offer from the publisher to write the book, I was in deep thought of what I should base the whole book on. It came to me that it should be about the reader not the writer."If I was to purchase a book for sewing what would I like and not like?", "Would the reader like this?", "Would they not"? These were the types of questions I found asking myself as I wrote the book. One of the many resolutions that came from this is that the reader would like more patterns for the price of admission. Instead of having different variations of the same pattern, having numerous completely original patterns just seemed like a better idea! However having a lot of patterns wasn't the right answer. In the modern day and age of internet there are many free patterns abroad that can be access just by the click of a mouse. The patterns in the book had to be unique had practical in everyday life. The dilemma was truly a quantity AND quality ordeal. Therefore going for the quality and quantity approach it was difficult for us to fit so many unique and different patterns in 2 pull out pages. I and C&T tried our best to put everything together but in the end some patterns from the original plan were left out.In the case of this bag it won't see the light of day because the original pattern of the Veronica Day Bag has already been included in the book; there are no plans on releasing the variations to the world. The patterns' tragic end saddens me!http://www.flickr.com/photos/30422689@N07/5033996755/in/set-72157624834712231/http://www.flickr.com/photos/30422689@N07/5033996939/in/set-72157624834712231/The next important aspect as a reader probably was the instructions itself. So I decided that when I started writing the instructions including as many process pictures as possible will be of an immense help to the reader. For every pattern there are averages of 10 process pictures with the description. To all the readers who have purchased and/or read "Bags - The Modern Classics" you have my graditude and thanks. To design more unique, practical, and most importantly fun-to-make patterns has always been my goal and will also be my way of showing the thanks you all deserve. Thanks again ~Sue Kim
