Our most vulnerable children are often our most challenging children. They are the most quickly marginalised and excluded when they most need positive connection. Sue Roffey has worked as a teacher, an educational psychologist and an academic. She has written extensively on issues related to behaviour in schools, going beyond a management perspective. Many teachers are rescuing damaged children and deserve encouragement and credit for doing so. Other educators are focused solely on getting through the curriculum and achieving high test scores. Learning to be and learning to live together are as important as knowledge and skills if we want to live in considerate communities and an ethical society in the future. Sue works primarily in Australia and the UK with schools and education authorities to help develop school and student wellbeing, resilience and connectedness, engagement and pro-social behaviour.
