by Sawyer Bennett
This was about a 3.5 for me. I marked it off partially because the premise seems preposterous to me-particularly how much Sela seems to trust Beckett and yet can't trust him enough to voice anything. It seems to me the opposite would happen, but I'll accept it. I also thought Beck could use a little...
This series from Sawyer Bennett is not like anything she has written before...there is a slight dark side to it, along with a suspenseful story that ends on a cliffhanger. Sela Halstead had her innocence taken from her when she was 16. All she remembers from that horrible day is the red phoenix bird...
This is book 1 in Sawyer Bennett New Trilogy Sugar Bowl, and she definitely opened with an awesome read. Even though this book ends in a cliff hanger don't be afraid to pick it up, Sugar Daddy will keep you turning the pages as the anticipation hypes the whole way through, it will keep you guessing ...
If you want to know about the story, read the synopsis. Anything I state in this review may give away the plotline progression. This is a book series you need to experience for yourself. Yes, a book series. Although this review is for book 1, you are going to want to know what happens with Sela ...
Beebs' Review Sela was brutally raped when she was 16, she has blocked most of her memories of that time and is getting on with life, except she's not really living just going through the motions. Seeing a TV interview about Jonathan Townsend brings her carefully structured world crumbling down wh...
Astrid's review Trigger warning: rape Holy.crap. I'm so mad right now. I can't even. Why oh why does this have to end on a cliffhanger? Sela was raped when she was 16. That's also when she lost her virginity so it is safe to say that her attitude towards sex isn't healthy. She has never ...
I received an eARC, from NetGalley and the publisher, in exchange for an honest review. This is book one in the "Sugar Bowl" series. Sela Halstead at sixteen found herself rapped and every since then she has been unable really to move past the horror of it. But one day she happens to see a commercial...
Too dark for my tastes. Sela wants revenge for the man that raped her. It is certainly a dark story given what happened to her and the horrible man that did it. I just couldn't keep reading. It was too much for me.
