by Maureen Johnson
Fun, fun, fun. A quirky family, and eccentric and scary rich hotel guest, first love, Hamlet, and a hot summer in NYC. Theater fans will love it because while Johnson doesn't try to explain how actors do their work, she does clearly understand that it is work, and she has a respect for the hard work...
Wow... I was not expecting to like this book as much as I did. It was actually pretty good. This is my first novel that I've read by Maureen Johnson and I am not disappointed in picking this book up. Mind you, there are some things that I found a bit annoying but that didn't deter me from finishing ...

Oh, sweet fluffy chocolate-coated Maureen Johnson goodness for my brain. (Not actual Maureen Johnson covered in chocolate. I don’t need to give her any more ideas.) I wasn’t sure how much I would like this book when I first picked it up, but it grew on me very quickly. This is one of her more romance...

Scarlett Martin is a ordinary teenager who lives in New York City except that her family owns a hotel in the heart of NYC. A decrepit rundown hotel called the Hopewell. Her older brother, Spencer, is a out of work actor. Lola, her older sister has a society boyfriend and a realistic nature. Marlene,...
