Easily one of my favorites in the series, though it's very, very difficult to read, at times. In fact, I had to set it aside at one point, because I suddenly couldn't see the words on the page due to the tears that were filling my eyes. This is the 20th in the series, and therefore it's kind of ha...
An ordinary, happy, nice and "clean" family, is killed in their sleep, their throats slashed. The only survivor is the nine-year-old daughter who escaped by a miracle in the form of the thirst for an orange fizzy, while her best friend, having a sleepover was killed in her stead. Lieutenant Eve Dall...
Honestly there is not a lot to say here except that this is one of my favorite "In Death" books. There are a couple of scenes that I found too outrageous to be believed (the ending with Nixie), anyone allowing Dallas to take a kid to live with her and Roarke instead of having her in foster care, etc...
This one got to me. A family is murdered but their daughter survives because she disobeyed and got out of bed to go to the kitchen for a snack. I cried as I read the sections with Nixie. Watching Eve deal with a nine-year-old was fun but heart-wrenching. I did think it would end differently but 'twa...
It's books like these that make me really worried about Eve and Roarke having kids at some point. Eve doesn't handle kids all that well. She's doing okay by the end, but it's a little shaky. The Survivor in this book is a little girl named Nixie who loses her whole family when two men go into h...
This was my first Eve Dallas book - it was a random pick-up from the remainder bin a few years ago. Now that I've read the entire series, most of the books mutliple times, I decided to try this one again. I enjoyed it much more than I did first time around, and though I'm not surprised I liked it...
This is book 20 in the In Death series, and while the books can be read in no particular order, and as stand alone mysteries, I suspect you'd have more fun if you started with some of the earlier books, or at the beginning with [b:Naked in Death|1855021|Naked in Death (In Death, #1)|J.D. Robb|http:/...
Loved it ! Now, this book has everything i love to see in a JD Robb novel, and in just the right amount. Cant wait to catch Eve again on her next case ! :)
