Teaching, translating, and facilitating healing form the core of Susan's life's work. A practitioner of Tibetan Buddhism, a Reiki Master Teacher, and a teacher and translator of Russian, Susan has dedicated her life to helping those around her awaken their love for others and lead happier, more fulfilling lives. Her desire to express her spiritual commitment to the work of alleviating the suffering of beings prompted her to take bodhisattva vows in 2007. She moves toward this goal by teaching students of Russian, translating spiritually oriented works, offering Reiki sessions, training Reiki practitioners and helping practitioners integrate Reiki into their spiritual practice. Susan is also active in the Bruno Groening Circle of Friends, a group dedicated to helping people find healing on the spiritual path.Susan earned a PhD in Slavic Languages and Literatures from the University of California at Berkeley and has taught Russian on the college and high school levels for thirty years. Her book, The Heart of Reiki, a practical guide to using Reiki for spiritual and personal transformation, was published by Lotus Press in 2012.
