This book literally saved my life when I was doing Pre-U English. I particularly liked the chapter on Snow White. Full of really interesting ideas and relatively easy to read, which is rarer than you might think.
Sometimes a dose of misery lit is required for perspective. This is a harrowing account and I respect Ms Gubar for telling it straight.
