Rather entertaining little story with a humorous ending! My niece and nephew were drawn into this story, and very pleased with the way the book ended. Kind of a surprisingly fun book!

My niece enjoyed this fantasy/sci-fi early reader. Aside from your average princess stories, this is the first fantasy that she's read, and I'm glad she enjoyed it. I'm trying to introduce her to chapter books and to various genres, so this was a good book to use toward that aim.

Ruthie's Rude Friends is a little tough to rate. I really liked the idea of a sci-fi easy reader, because frankly, those are kind of tough to find (at least I think so). This was my niece's first introduction to a lengthier sci-fi book, and she really enjoyed that. Maybe she's a sci-fi kinda girl...
