I really want to know more about Ruth. This story is about her and introduces us into her life. It seems a little hectic, her life. She's trying to date, has family drama, and her friends add to the mix too.I got pulled in, but felt like I needed more at the end. That's the thing with short stories. T...
I fell in love in love with Jennifer Weiner's writing after reading Swim. The dynamics of a really strong lead woman character and a strong male lead character who turned out to have a really soft heart. It was a great contrast to the story.

FOr a $5k fee she will get them ready for an interview, coach them on what to do, wear and discuss. She and her grandmother had moved from MA to LA several years ago. This is my first Jennifer Weiner read (I've seen the movie version of In Her Shoes which I liked). For a short read, I say well done, Ms. Weiner. In that short of a tale, I was able to get a good glimpse into each of the characters, even the side ones like Caitlyn. That bit about her in the end caug...
The book was less about actually swimming pools and more about the main character's battle to write a good TV show script. But I think that it was a good story nonetheless.

Cute little novella for The Next Best Thing (which I guess I now have to add to my TBR pile *shakes fist at author*). Weiner's writing tends to be a bit predictable, but it's never not enjoyable.
Probably my favorite Jennifer Weiner read. There was something about this story that it def. had a feeling of deeper character and character development than a number of author characters in her book. I actually found myself wanting to read the full lenght novel that this book was a short story to.
4.5 starsI had already read this story before, but I had to read it again after finishing The Next Best Thing: A Novelyesterday. I just wanted a little more Ruthie, and of grandma as well. The characters are so completely real it makes reading so easy. It's like hanging out with friends you haven't s...
