I was born in 1950 and spent my formative years in Nappanee, Indiana. Living in small town America during that period instilled close family and community ties that are revealed in my writing. Hoosier Woman is my debut novel based on my great-grandmother's life. She lived in a highly evolving world of technology from 1865-1917 and saw the development of the telephone, automobile, airplane, phonograph, and electricity in the home, among other miraculous advancements. I wonder what she would think about having her life story instantaneously traveling to every corner of the globe through the marvels of print-on-demand and ereaders. Delving into my ancestry has given me a new interest in genealogy.After graduating from Indiana University, I embarked upon a high school English teaching career that has taken me from Indiana, to Michigan, to Colorado. I currently live in Steamboat Springs, CO, with my husband who is a visual artist and teacher.
