Sylvie Fox is the author of smart women’s fiction. Her compelling stories are boldly told, designed to keep readers turning the pages. Whether you’re reading Sylvie’s romantic women’s fiction or legal thrillers, she wants you to enjoy the heroine’s journey. Before turning to writing full time, Sylvie practiced law for nearly a decade. She splits her time between Los Angeles and Budapest, where she enjoys yoga, knitting, farm-to-table cooking, and life with her husband and son. When she’s not writing, her nose is stuck in a book.Q&A with Sylvie FoxWhat was your most embarrassing moment? Wow, these are probably too numerous to count. Here’s one: my college boyfriend dumped me for another girl (a flag twirler in the marching band). One early Saturday morning I was riding my bicycle to the library and I passed them along the way. I was so shocked to see them canoodling about five seconds after our breakup that I leaned into a curve badly, and fell off my bike. No, they didn’t stop to help. What do you like to write in?A chair? Seriously, I live in sweats. Juicy Couture was the greatest company ever conceived. You will never see me: in a dress. Ok, maybe you will once every ten years or so. I hate dresses. I never feel comfortable. In my humble opinion, pant suits were the greatest invention ever. I’ll bet you Hillary Clinton agrees. What is your favorite television program? So, I’ll have to tell you I don’t watch TV. When I moved to my current house about ten years ago, I could only get one or two channels. After TV went digital, my reception died. I haven’t looked back. I am, however, addicted to Korean Dramas which I watch on DVD.What do you do in your spare time? First, I procrastinate. Writing is hard. Procrastination is easy. I do like to hike, bike, and knit sweaters. Yes, I know that it’s rarely cold enough to wear sweaters in Southern California, but Budapest loves a sweater. What’s your favorite dessert? Apple Pie. I don’t think any others are worth my time. Okay, okay, I’ll eat chocolate chip cookies if given half a chance. Are you a ‘plotter’ or a ‘pantser?’ I’m a linear pantser. I have a one sentence idea. I sit down and write and see what happens. This drives my husband crazy, by the way. He always asks me what I’m writing about. I tell him the truth: I’ll have no idea until it’s done. You can read more about her books at www.sylviefox.com.
