W pogoni za seryjnym mordercą wspomaga policję psycholog Tony Hill, wytrawny profesjonalista, który podejmuje się stworzenia portretu psychologicznego psychopaty. Nie wie, że zabójca już upatrzył go sobie na kolejną ofiarę. Na kilkuset stronach toczy się pasjonujący pojedynek pomiędzy bezwzględnym psychopatą a niepodejrzewającym niczego psychologiem. Rozwiązanie tego starcia jest niezwykłe.

Meh. Written in 1995, this actually reads dated. Also, there is a lot of explaining things - mostly Hill explaining to Jordan - which read a bit like a lecture. Not a fan of the gory / torture parts, and it did not help that the book starts with some pretty gruesome descriptions.
Hot damn do I love Val McDermid's books. If "The Skeleton Road" gave me a donkey kick in the feels, then this one makes me wanna binge-read all the Tony Hill and Carol Jordan books I can get my grubby little hands on. (Though I'd like to back-track and read the books preceding "The Skeleton Road."...
