Originally trained as a musician, I taught music at Princeton University and Oberlin College. My interest in the metaphysical sciences and arts began in 1970 when I first learned to read Tarot cards. I took up reading professionally in 1977. Beginning in 1980 I studied astrology for seven years with Ivy Jacobson, became one of Ivy's teaching assistants, and have carried on a professional practice in astrology ever since. When studying with Ivy, and through her encouragement, I began an on-going career as a writer. In 1988 I took up a study of Chinese astrology and fengshui with Terry Lee in New York. I have been practicing and teaching Chinese astrology and fengshui since then. From 1999 I have been a member of OBOD (the Order of Bards, Ovates, and Druids), the most ancient bardic and druid order in the UK in which I was elected a full member in the Druid grade in 2008.I write blog articles in mundane and horary astrology on http://raphael-astroblog.blogspot.com. I also write blog articles in Chinese astrology and fengshui on http://raphael-fengshuiblog.blogspot.com.In addition to my books in feng shui, I am preparing books on Chinese divination systems and astrology. In addition to my books in the Chinese arts, I am writing books on aspects of Rune Magic and fantasy novellas based in ancient mythology. These I am writing under the name Raphael Simons. Books to be published in time coming up will be announced in my blogs and on my website www.psychicarts.net.
