I love this fun twist on an alphabet book. In this one, the letters go whenever they feel like it instead of alphabetical order. Beautiful chaos ensues, full of subtle messages about trying new things and doing things in a different way (as well as asking nicely for what you want). 

Fun illustrations and dialogue. This is a wonderful book. At the bottom of every page, each letter is superimposed onto the letter space that it took, allowing kids to see the actual order of the letters and the order used in the book. Very fun. Great way to test letter identification and expose kids to words that start with each letter.

Hit and miss. I found "Galatea and Pygmalion" by Kate Danley to be a rather interesting take on the Greek myth. The story makes good use of gender roles and storytelling. "Princess Charming" by Yasmine Galenorn was the best tale in the collection. I love the use of letter writing and the solutions to the problems. "Soot and Stone" by Jenna Elizabeth Johnson was a really cool retelling of Cinderella. While I thought "A Small Magic" by Devon Monk was a bit longer than it had to be, it was also creative and unique.

 

Danley's, Galenorn's, and Johnson's tales would be worth the .99 price tag for me.

The Truth About Cats And Wolves: A Noctu... Kristen Painter has extended the Nocturne Falls Universe and got a bunch of authors to write novellas. I think they are a must read for fans of the Universe. And also a great way to discover new author- or at least to me they were all new authors.

My favorite of the Nocturne Falls Universe Novellas so far!

I totally fell in love with the cast. Kontis did an amazing job at the character building. This is just a novella but I feel like I know Finn and Kai.
Add to that the support cast which was done well as well. I love that we get a little visit with old loved characters from NF. The amazing thing about this is that it feels like the characters that Painter had written.
The storyline is cute. There is a total insta vibe going but I didn't mind AT ALL, which shows you how well Kontis did with the plot.
The writing style is wonderful as well.
This left me wanting an entire book about Finn and Kai. I definitely will read more by Kontis!
