quote 2017-10-19 07:43
I want you to take your picture and send it to me
Its a little dark
Turn on a light , genius
Should I send it to you now
I'm going to hang up , I said , and then you're going to send it to me . But there's one last thing .
What ?
I want you to be naked in the picture .
More silence
Its only fair . I think you know that .
I didn't wait for a response . I just ended the call. And I fully expected that he would call right back and try to argue his way out of it . But he didn't do that . And as time passed at this rate about an hour per second, I wondered maybe if it was better if he didn't do it
It would give me a chance to break contact , to prove that he never really wanted to be on even ground with me .
What does a true liar do , after all , when you ask him to stand naked .

What did I just read...lol.
Alone - Cyn Balog

This one comes out next month and well it was different.  I almost feel like I can't say a lot without giving to much away.

It's about a young girl and her family living in this isolated place, there is lots of snow. One day a group of teens get stranded and they invite them in and then things start getting strange. It takes almost to 60% for it to get real interesting but once that happens it's one wild ride and then the ending, it's like you have to read ending more than once to make sure you read it right and then you remember some things you read and it kind of clicks but at the same time you are like what did I just read...lol

It's being called the YA version of The Shining and it does have elements but at the same time not really must like it though some of the teens themselves mention the Shining and the overlook hotel.

Horror of the SciFi Kind – Nomad by Matthew Mather @phuturenews
Nomad (Volume 1) - Matthew Mather

Nomad by Matthew Mather is Book I of The New Earth Series.

This is one of those books that left me with tons of questions and what ifs.

Nomad (Nomad, #1)

Amazon US  /  Amazon UK  /  Amazon CA  /  Goodreads

MY REVIEW

Action packed, thought-provoking, could this really happen novel that held my attention as the clocked ticked down.

“At most, we have a year, perhaps only months, until the anomaly reaches us.”

It’s the end of the world and I can’t imagine the fear and panic. All kinds of questions came to mind. Would I want to know, seeing as how there is nothing I could do? Would I want to be one of the last ones standing? How would I spend the last moments of my life? Who would I spend them with?

I quickly became involved with the characters, especially Jess. I love a strong, independent, kickass female, and she surely fits the bill. She is into extreme sports, served in Afghanistan, and left a leg there because of an IED. She may be a bit more than self-confident, maybe a bit reckless, but she does not have a death wish. There is nothing that will stop her from doing the right thing.

My first thought would be to let bygones be bygones, but would others think that? What about other countries? Would they want to take the last shot before the Earth ceases to exist?

A free for all, no holds barred human slaughter.

Matthew Mather did his research for Nomad. I don’t understand all the technical jargon, but he broke it down into easy to understand language. Well enough for me to me to be totally engrossed in the story, instead of thinking of it as a school subject.

The end of the world is coming and I felt it on every page, especially after watching the Solar Eclipse on 8.21.17. The danger and suspense just kept increasing, and it wasn’t just because of Nomad.

There is no ending. There are four books in the series, and I WANT THEM!

Just Keeps Getting Better – Onyx Webb by Richard Fenton & Andrea Waltz @OnyxWebb
Onyx Webb: Book Five: Episodes 13, 14 & 15 - Andrea Waltz,Richard Fenton

Onyx Webb by Richard Fenton & Andrea Waltz is an ongoing story that grabbed me and won’t let me go. Each book draws me in further, making me have to know what will come next.

Onyx Webb: Book Five: Episodes 13, 14, 15

Goodreads  /  Amazon US  /  Amazon UK  /  Amazon CA

MY REVIEW

This may be the best one yet…

In Onyx Webb, Richard Fenton and Andrea Waltz have no problem putting their characters through HELL. No easy ‘living’ for them.

Left me asking the question, “Do we ever really know anyone? What are they thinking, feeling?”

Even as a ghost, Onyx Webb has kept the lighthouse lit. Guess even a ghost has to have a purpose.

“Life is a hard thing to let go of…Even when you’re dead.” Onyx tells Katherine. But, why stay, when there is no joy or happiness?

Death, murder, lies and betrayal. Be careful who you put your trust in and who you care about. The authors are not afraid to kill off their characters. Adds a little something extra for me, guessing who will bite the bullet next.

A multitude of characters, some of them dead, some of them not. We have numerous storylines going on, jumping from the past to the present. I can hardly wait to see what happens when they catch up with each other.

The authors include a memory refresher in the beginning of the book and I found that very helpful. This series does not stand alone, so begin with Book I. All the books are out and available for purchase.

I knew the ending for these episodes was coming and I didn’t want it to happen. From present to past, character to character, I find this hard to put down and I want more….NOW!

I voluntarily reviewed a free copy of Onyx Webb by Richard Fenton & Andrea Waltz.
