Some Like it Plaid by: Angela Quarles
Some Like it Plaid - Angela Quarles

Quarles dares to be different and I'm lovin' it. From modern firecracker to 2nd century outcast. Move over Outlander, make room for Some Like It Plaid. Ashley and Connell may be from two different worlds, but they do share a common goal. Both are trying to work their way through heartache. With a connection that seems to transcend time, adventure that kept me mystified and heart that touches the soul, Quarles turns an eccentric romance into an unforgettable love match.

Good Quick Read
Deserving It: A Romantic Comedy (Stolen Moments Book 3) - Angela Quarles

Stranded by a hurricane. Check. Hotel secured. Check. Hot guy to share it with. Check. No, wait. Not him! A tough girl with an awkward flirt-game, Claire has long ago given up on catching the eye of Irish hottie Conor and she refuses to change. If he doesn't like her as is, then screw him. A loner workaholic too busy to notice, Conor isn't looking to nail the next chick--even one as hot as Claire--just his next bonus-earning presentation. But when a hurricane strands them in Atlanta and they're forced to shack up in the same hotel room for several days, things tend to get…exposed.

So, this was a pretty good quick read. I liked both characters and I liked their POVs, even liked Conor’s POV in Irish. The reason for 4 stars instead of 5 (really should've been 3.5) was because every time Conor (or his sister) spoke, the dialog ended with “yeah”. I’ve been to Ireland, was there for a week, and not one person I came across in my drive around the country spoke like that. It didn’t bother me at first, but the further into the book, the more it bothered me. Beyond that, I recommend.

**I voluntarily read and reviewed this book

Contemporary Romance
Earning It - Angela Quarles

Earning It by Angela Quarles is supposed to be a romantic comedy, and it did have some humor in it, but there was more angst than comedy.  This book is written in first person/alternating point of view format, my least favorite...I think this is a book that would have worked better in 3rd person.  Pepper and Luke's second chance story was loaded with drama, bits of humor, sizzle and fantastic characters.  I know this sounds like a negative review, but I did enjoy reading Earning It.  Earning It is book 1 of the Stolen Moments Series but can be read as a standalone.  This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.

Review : DESERVING IT by Angela Quarles
Deserving It: A Romantic Comedy (Stolen Moments Book 3) - Angela Quarles

DESERVING IT by Angela Quarles is book Three in the "Stolen Moments" series. This is the story of Conor and Claire. I have read the previous books, but feel this can easily be a standalone book. Conor and Claire are left stranded after their flight gets canceled due to weather. Claire has always had a burning crush on Conor but knows it won't be going anywhere. But the bad weather has giving them both a change to get to know one another better and it set off their desire for each other too.
Really enjoyed this book and their story.

This was a cute, short read.
I love the enemies to lovers story-line, and this one didn't disappoint.
The chemistry between the protagonists was strong, and the characters likeable.
This is a good start to a new series.
