Carter Reed 2
Carter Reed 2 - Tijan Another great book by Tijan. The book picks up right where book one left off and it moves at a pretty quick pace. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because Carter and Emma didn't get much time together this book. He was always gone. But, it did seem like we got more from his viewpoint which was nice (maybe we got more because he wasn't around very much!). Overall, a great book. I hope she continues with this series-I would LOVE to see Emma and Carter's wedding! My full review can be found at http://www.thebookdisciple.com

Carter Reed
Carter Reed - Tijan I avoided this book at first. I downloaded the sample and read it and just sort of walked away from it. I have struggled with Tijan in the past. I love the fallen crest series but hated broken and screwed so I wasn't sure about this one. However it is filled with the things I love in NA: mafia, hot alpha, and danger. Once I got into this book I never put it down. I loved that there was not debate about the love between Carter and Emma. I hate when authors create the drama by messing with the main characters (its my least favorite new adult trick). So, now the scales are tipped back in favor of me being a Tijan fan! Carter Reed 2
Carter Reed 2 - Tijan I loved the first book in this series. More Carter and his wolf-like blue eyes, yes please!!! This book was a total surprise for me, I hadn't done my homework to know there was going to be a book 2!? I love surprises though=) I think this was the perfect follow up to Carter and Emma's story. There was a lot going on in the "family", tons of drama. Carter was just as bad ass as he was in book one, and just as in love with Emma. They have that good kind of love, where they can't even be apart because it hurts. Yes that is my favorite!! There were definitely some hot moments in there too! I would suggest both books 1 and 2! If you haven't read the Fallen Crest series i would highly suggest that one too!

Carter Reed - Tijan UPDATE: 2015 re-read count: 1
Comment: Wow, that felt as if it's the first time that I read this book. Same rating. :)
4.5

So that is how a mob book goes.

Interesting...

Carter Reed is my first mob book. I've only seen glimpses of them in other books. As it turns out, It really is what I expected it to be. It's action packed. Guns, knives and fighting? Yeah, they're all here.

HOT BADASS GUY? OH YEAH DEFINITELY HERE AS WELL!!

I now know why the title is CARTER REED. This book is totally HIM. ALL HIM. I mean, Emma is the narrator most of the time and this is her story. However, the feel of the book is all him. It's edgy, hot and dangerous. I love how he cared for Emma all those years. I love how he protected her and I love how he loves her.

I thought Emma was just some damsel at first. She experiences something life changing and she asks Carter for help and holds on to him always after that. She was full of guilt that she frustrated me at some point. Anyway, she is more resilient than I thought and she accepted Carter through and through. She even stood by him during darker times. I admire her character a lot. :) I even wish I was her, even with the bad stuff.

The story line is good. It's mysterious, exciting and full of action. The characters are imperfectly perfect. It's all good.

I wish there's another book. :)
