Son of War: A Sphinx Companion Story
Son of War: A Sphinx Companion Story - R... Son of War: A Sphinx Companion Story - Raye Wagner Xan spends his time hunting down monsters and kills them. He likes working alone but when the daughter of Athena asks him to let the sons of Apollo join him on a hunt he reluctantly agrees. His opinion of the sons of Apollo is that they are dimwits and does not work well with others. They have no concept of what working as team means.

When tragedy strikes doing the hunt the sons of Apollo blame Xan for what happened while he is unconscious and defenseless from injuries sustained doing the hunt.

Now Xan is stuck at the conservatory while he heals from his wounds. He can’t wait until he is better so he can get back to hunting monsters. But the other demigods have other plans for him. They want him to stay at the conservatory to train other demigods as he is the best.

I have read all of the books in the Sphinx series and have loved all of them. I am team Xan and have been ever since being introduced to him. I like Xan because he is so mysterious and he likes to keep to himself.

If you haven’t read any of the other books in the Sphinx series you can still read Xan’s story Son of War but then you would miss out on all the other wonderful characters and their stories. So my recommendation is that you read all of the books in the Sphinx series I mean you surely don’t want to miss out on Hope, Athan and all the other characters stories either.

If you like reading about demigods, gods, goddess, mythology then you will love the Sphinx series as it is so very good. I can’t wait to read more in Hope, Xan, Athan and the Sphinx’s world. I am so grateful to Raye Wagner for giving me the opportunity to enjoy the Sphinx series.

Mending Hearts, Logan's Story
Mending Hearts: Logan's Story, A Companion to the Sweet Montana Bride Series (Second Chances ) (Volume 2) - Kimberly Krey

This is not your typical romance since it's about a couple who have been married for ten years and separated for one year. They badly want children but remain childless. This is devastating for the wife, Candice, making her feel like she was a failure to her husband because she could not give him the family she thought she should be able to provide. When their attempts to get pregnant weren't successful, they tried adoption. When that failed too, Candice believed she had to divorce her husband, Logan, so he could find someone who could give him children.

After being apart for a year, they decided to give their marriage another try. Logan especially wanted to make Candice see how much he loved her, with or without children.

This is a very emotional story that makes you think about relationships and how marriage can be so hard. It shows how important communication is between couples. It's much easier to go through hard times when you have someone you know you can rely on and talk to.

Logan is a very patient man and quite likable however Candice wasn't. I have enjoyed Kimberly Krey's books so I was surprised when I didn't understand why they separated until well into the book. Candice's aunt and uncle where great additions to the story. Their bowl filled with slips of paper each telling them to do something together was a unique idea. They said If the couple followed the instructions on the slips, their love would grow again. Candice's friend, Lana, turned out to be the bad guy. Always gotta have one of those.

I received a copy of Mending Hearts from Inspired Kathy in exchange for an honest review.

Rough Edges Allie's Story, A Companion to the Sweet Montana Bride Series - Kimberly Krey

this was a good clean romance that had me expecting something around the corner each time but was surprised how good the book was. I have not read a good clean romance in a while its was the a nice book to do so - this being the start of the series is even better.

Slowly getting forward. Reading some pages now and then, but there is a lot of information. An honestly sometimes too much information. I like knowing more about FDR and Daisy but hell, every diary entry or letter mention either one of them, it get a bit tedious sometimes reading and trying to find the interesting pieces between the mundane everyday happenings.
