From the outsider looking in, Warren Corry, the Marquess of Knightford, might look like a rakehell who spends his nights gambling and whoring in London. Most people don't know about his dark secret that would explain why he does the things that he does. When Warren's cousin Clarissa is concerned that her friend Miss Delia Trevor is acting weird, she asks him to see if he find can find a reason for her actions. What Warren didn't expect was to be intrigued by this lady. Delia does not act like a typical Lady...she is way more inappropriate and he really likes it! As Warren and Delia play a cat and mouse game, Warren uncovers what Delia is really up to and has a really fun time teasing her along the way.
Delia inappropriateness is keeping Warren's attention and soon he wants to be with her all the time. After a certain incident, Warren is pushed into marrying Delia and the real fun begins! Just as things are looking up for our newlyweds, old secrets come crashing down all around them. Together they work through theirs issues and come out stronger in the end.
I just adored the character of Delia. She was a really sassy and smart lady. She knew what she wanted and she just went after it. Warren acts like a typical first born....always wanting to take care of everyone and make sure their lives are good, except he doesn't use that same philosophy on his own life....at least until Delia comes into the picture.
I loved the climax ending of the secrets....never saw that one coming! And the happy ending was just perfect! The phrase "boxing the Jesuit" was too funny! :) Overall a great story with wonderful characters. You cannot go wrong with a Sabrina Jeffries book!
