My Thoughts.....

I loved this Christmas holiday contemporary romance read that had several things going on in this well written story that will keep your attention all the way to the end. We find Fiona was back in her home town of Blueberry Cove. Maine [small town] for her sister Hannah's Christmas wedding and since she was now staying and opening up her new shop [Fiona McCrae Interiors]. What will happen when Fiona who was nicknamed Fireplug Fi by a a old childhood friend ....Ben who was her brothers Logan's best friend was also back in town working at his family business? There will be a lots going on in this story...from upcoming nuptials, old friends and family getting back together to even business concerns. What will happen as Ben sees Fiona as a a woman and not just 'Fireplug Fi? Will they become more than just friends as Fiona learns that Ben's become far greater than the boy she had a crush on? I loved how this author gives the reader such a well written story about this McCrae family who were truly there for each other along with some other very interesting characters that will keep you turning the pages until the end. Be ready for catching up with the Cove residents that are well developed, likable, well portrayed and believable that will keep the reader engaged in it all.

This is the second novel in this series..'The Brides of Blueberry Cove #2 ....which deals mainly with Fiona and Ben. I would suggest that even though its a standalone read I would read the first series to truly understand how well this storyline is so well written. I truly loved that train ride that Ben and Fiona took during the holidays ...what chemistry, definitely leaving you saying WoW! Now, to learn just what I am talking about you will have to pick up "Snowflake Bay" to see how well this author presents it to the readers. Now, I will be ready for this next series featuring Kerry McCrae.

I received a copy through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

What I liked about this novel....

I really enjoy reading to first series of 'The Brides of Blueberry Cove.' The two main characters were very interesting to read about being of career decisions and family issues. Hannah McCrae was home
in Blueberry Cove, Maine for her brother's wedding, after her job and personal life in DC had gone up in smoke. It was on her way home Hannah gets involved in a car accident after running a four way stop sign...their she meets Calder Blue who stopped to help her and this lovely story begins. Calder was in town to see about a job on the town's waterfront and also trying to resolve a decade of feuding between two separate factions of his family...'The Blue's.' I loved how this author was able to get Hannah and Calder together that will involve them in land issues involving semi dangerous residents and much more as they are drawn together in this very interesting story. And in saying that I will say I enjoyed how this relationship developed between Hannah and Calder. The chemistry was off the chart..hot and steamy! Let's not leave out those secondary characters especially Hannah's sisters that will put a smile on your face being well developed, portrayed, and believable helping to give the reader a story that will keep your interest in this two plot story that even has some mystery in it. Be ready for a good read about a old family feud with some crazy and some humours town people and you have it all..."Sea Glass Sunrise."

Book Description....

Ford Maddox was running from his past when he came back to Blueberry Cove, Maine, where he'd tasted both heartache and comfort. With feisty Delia O'Reilly there to cheer him on, he couldn't have picked a better place to start over—even if he's determined to do it alone in his island tree house, working to save endangered seabirds . . . and himself.

But when he finds Delia fighting to hold on to her local diner, and all that's best about their little seaside town, Ford has to lend a hand. Suddenly two fiercely independent people are building something sweeter than they ever imagined . . . together.

DIY is so much better with two...

Includes an easy do-it-yourself restoration project!

What I liked about this novel....

This novel may have started out somewhat slow but it does pick up here in Blueberry Clove where you will not want to put it down until the end. Ford and Delia were in their 40's and I liked the couples being of a older bunch of folks for this romantic read setting in the small town of Maine called Sandpiper Island.

Ford had met earlier while in the military and he had the 'unenviable task of bringing back Delia's brother after he was killed in service to his country. It was then when after one night of passion they had shared then Ford returns to the military service. After much time as passed Ford (ex -Military) is now working for a conservation projected in Sandpiper Island which really brought out to this island regarding the study of the species of birds in this contemporary romance read. All of this was brought out so well by this author in the read and especially with Ford being so 'stoic and self contained' living in a 'tree house' on this island. Would Ford and Delia be able to get passed what had happened in the past that it was only one night when they were just helping each other during such a trying time in their lives? Will Ford live his hibernation on this island to help his sister and Delia's diner from this developed who was after Delia's land even though she didn't want his help? This storyline will keep you reading as this author gives us such well developed, defined, colorful and believable characters as many twist and turns come forth. I loved how these two main characters were finally able to 'rediscover things about themselves while experiencing the magic that was in Sandpiper Island.'

"Sandpiper Island" was definitely one of those 'Bachelors of Blueberry Cove' series that I wasn't able to put down due to the fact I wanted to find out what had happened and I am so glad I did. In the end one of my favorite parts was the 'Atlantic Puffin' rescue scene which proved to be quite a interesting read giving the reader a real breathtaking scenes along with some wonderful people with some realistic issues and yes, even struggles lived with from day to day. It was very interesting seeing Ford and Delia become friends again, then lovers and in the end true love was showed...wow what a read! After the novel this author has put at her ...how to "Create Your Own Indoor Miniature Water Garden" that I found most fascinating!
