Oh my gosh. This book is the most beautiful book. I thought I was going to hate Blake. And I thought Layla was just dealing with an eating disorder. WRONG! Seriously just read this book now! My full review is posted at http://www.thebookdisciple.com

Fighting to Forgive By J.B Salsbury
Fighting to Forgive - J.B. Salsbury

Ahh yesss!!  Blake and Layla what a wonderful story. What can I say about me and my MMA fighters...First of all J.B Took this series to a whole other level. I mean Blake shows us a whole other side to himself that in book 1 was not there. The protector and the loving man that he could be. In book one he is written in as the more charismatic funny kind of guy. But in book 2 "Fighting to Forgive" we find out why he uses laughter to hide his pain. And Layla, Well she is a whole other story all by herself, a single mother with a 16 year old daughter that move to Las Vegas to start a new life on their own. But the fun and madness start once Layla meets Blake "The Snake" Daniel. Both characters come together and fight to find heeling from their past together. First time I have read anything from this author, well besides the first book in the Series "Fighting for Flight". And I have been totally impressed with the authors writing in both books. She is able to bring two people that are in totally different ages and have them have something in common. But most of all she brings two people that are emotionally damaged and scarred, but within that pain they are able to find kindness and love once gain with each other.

Fighting to Forgive
Fighting to Forgive - J.B. Salsbury HOW DO YOU KNOW WHEN A BOOK IS GOOD?

As for me... I know it when I stay up until 3 in the mprning just to finish the book. When I just want to get to the bottom of it all and read the happy ending. This happened in this book and I'm so happy.

This book is a good follow up to the first one. They are unique and they are both worth the time and effort. Blake and Layla deserve to have their stories told. Their individual stories, actually, are already pretty intrguing, so when you combine both, you get a WOW book.

Fighting to Forgive is a good mjxture of romance, fighting, drama, issues and laughter. The author managed to convey each character's strengths and weaknesses. I love both Blake and Layla because they indeed "fought" for their happy ending. :)

The story line is full of surprises.I was never bored while reading this. The characters are superb ... and umm.. HOT. haha. Even though they both made some weird and stupid choices along the way, they both managed to bounce bak and not let thei fears tangle with their relationship.

To tell you honestly, I already knew Blake's secret with full conviction at the start of the book. Still, it was pretty neat. I love his secret. haha.

I love love love the ending so much! ♥♥♥ I am a big fan of Bon Jovi and old rock because my dad was also a big fan, so I guess I was bound to like this too. ;)

★★★★★★★★★★ my ten stars for this book ;)

Fighting to Forgive
Fighting to Forgive - J.B. Salsbury

Fighting to Forgive is book 2 in a series.  The series centers around a group of professional MMA fighters.  This book is the story of Blake "The Snake" Daniels.  He had a very big role in book 1 so we go into this book knowing a lot about him.  He is a 6'2" ex-Marine Jiu-Jitsu black belt and received his nickname because of his submissions.

Blake had a troubled childhood.  His father, a General in the Marines, was mentally abusive to him, his mother and his brother.  Blake chose to draw his father's wrath to protect the other members of his family until being sent away to military school.  After finally getting out from under his father, he is making his own way in the world of professional fighting and is known as one of the biggest playboys ever, usually taking home 2 or 3 girls together.  He is all about the jokes, never being serious except in the ring.  He's the group's comedian and sex god, often combining for a lewd sense of humor and behavior.  About the only rule he follows outside of the ring is never sleep with a woman who has kids.

"Well, fuck me."  Literally.  "What's a girl like you doing in a dirty mind like mine?"

When she was 16, Layla woke up after a party beside a guy realizing she had lost her virginity and later finding out she was pregnant.  They married, and he has made her life hell for years.  Her own daughter is now 16, and Layla is finally got the nerve up to leave her husband and make a better life for her and her daughter.  She gets a job working as an assistant to the guy in charge at a UFL Training Center.

That's the backdrop.  Then of course, the shit hits the fan.

Si vis pacem, para bellum.

If you want peace, prepare for war.

I love this series.  Everyone who knows me knows I love my fighters.  The author seems to really know the subject matter so of course that makes the storyline more appealing and flow more smoothly.  Also, the plots are pretty unique.  A lot of the books I read are interesting, but the story seems recycled.  So far, I have been surprised when certain things happened; I didn't already have it all figured out.  I really liked both of the books currently out in the series, but this one was my favorite.  I love Blake.  What a man he turned out to be!  Swoon.

"I want them.  They're mine."

Fighting to Forgive
Fighting to Forgive - J.B. Salsbury Amazon-->>Fighting to Forgive (Fighting Series)
Tonight will be the night that I will fall for you
Breathe me in
I'm yours to keep
Because a girl like you is impossible to find
You're impossible to find

Absolutely amazing. Blake is funny and sweet and strong and sexy. Perfect. This book follows Kristen Ashley's formula, but has a its own flare. Loved the tie in to the first book. Loved the pool scene, the epilogue, hot sex, the reveal and solution to the conflict.
There was a little cheese factor that niggled at me. Some of their dirty talk was cringe worthy, but not enough to make this anything but a 5 star read.

I'll be there for you
These five words I swear to you
When you breathe I want to be the air for you
I'll be there for you
I'd live and I'd die for you
I'd steal the sun from the sky for you
Words can't say what love can do
I'll be there for you
