The Snowy Day
The Snowy Day - Ezra Jack Keats

I don't think I'd ever read this one before, but I'm glad I've read it now. The story is beautiful in its simplicity. The mixed-media illustrations look fresh fifty plus years later. This book is a great example of how white authors can produce great books about children of color. It does not have to be a fraught process. It can be as simple as telling a universal story and centering it on non-white characters.
