Review: Miss Behave
Miss Behave - Traci Highland

If you're in the mood for a light, funny book then you should pick up Miss Behave. The inclusion of Piper's advice column from the paper really made me choke on my drink a few times from laughing so hard. Highland does a wonderful job making Piper into a totally relateable and charming character.

This wonderful gem has a little bit of everything for you, family craziness, overbearing mothers, naked runs in the forest.... you won't want to miss a moment of Piper and Mr. Brookes chaos. Each new development in the story makes you laugh out loud and question your own sanity. Piper has a sarcastic wit that I would adore in a friend, and Mr. Brookes is a great match for her personality. Their banter and flirting is absolutely hilarious and swoon worthy.

I can't wait to read the next installment of the Anderson Family series. I highly recommend this book to readers who enjoy fun, romantic, sarcastic lead characters.

Book review : the king of bourbon street thea de salle
The King of Bourbon Street - Thea de Salle

July 19-23

Hotel chain mogul Sol DuMont is about to learn that some of life’s biggest surprises come in deceptively small packages—namely a petite heiress named Rain who’s hell-bent on upsetting her family’s expectations—in this first book in the all new series by Thea de Salle, set against the sultry backdrop of New Orleans.

Thirty-seven-year-old Sol DuMont is a divorcee and the owner of a mid-sized hotel chain in New Orleans. Since Hurricane Katrina, his father’s death, and the decision that he and his ex-wife Maddy are far better off friends than lovers, he’s lost interest in almost everything he held dear—parties, people, and pushing limits.

All his limits.

Then Arianna Barrington checks into his hotel.

Twenty-four-year-old Arianna “Rain” Barrington could have been society’s sweetheart. Her family is moneyed, connected press darlings, and make sweeping headlines from coast to coast for reasons both good and bad. But when her mother shoves her at Charles Harwood—the obnoxious, entitled heir of Harwood Corp—to cement a billion-dollar business merger, Rain does the only thing she can think of to escape: she creates a scandal so big Harwood doesn’t want her anymore before fleeing to New Orleans for much-needed rest and relaxation.

All she wants is jazz piano, beignets, and to sail the Mississippi. What she gets is Sol DuMont, a whirlwind affair, and a hands-on education in sex, power play, and pushing limits.

All her limits.

Review : I freaking love this book it was cute and sexy and body positive . Rain goes to new Orleans for a vacation after a scandal about her and a sex tape so her and her brother go to a hotel and there she meets sol who i love he is the owner of the hotel he's a dom and bisexual he and rain strike up a relationship and I love them together the only problem is rains crazy ass mother who is trying to ruin sol hotel .so rain goes to Connecticut to do an interview threatening to do a tell all book about her mother her mom tells her not to and rain says she won't if she leaves her and sol alone . She goes back to sol. I can't wait to read the rest of the series

Quotes :

of course I’d pick the girl with an ex-marine for a chaperone

Sol almost pointed out that Vaughan couldn’t smoke the cigarette in the hotel, but he liked his face and so far this had been an amicable exchange.

Sol DuMont seemed heaven-sent. He was handsome and funny and sexy and sweet, which meant, by some cosmic joke, he probably had dead bodies stored in The Seaside’s freezer. Or maybe he sniffed socks when no one was looking. Or maybe he had a back-hair fetish.

Kitten.” “Yes?” “Are you trying to seduce me?” “Maybe? Is it working?” “Fantastically

Release Day Review! Wild Hunger (Heirs of Chicagoland #1) Chloe Neill!
Wild Hunger - Chloe Neill

In the first thrilling installment of Chloe Neill's spinoff to the New York Times bestselling Chicagoland Vampires series, a new vampire will find out just how deep blood ties run.

As the only vampire child ever born, some believed Elisa Sullivan had all the luck. But the magic that helped bring her into the world left her with a dark secret. Shifter Connor Keene, the only son of North American Central Pack Apex Gabriel Keene, is the only one she trusts with it. But she's a vampire and the daughter of a Master and a Sentinel, and he's prince of the Pack and its future king.

When the assassination of a diplomat brings old feuds to the fore again, Elisa and Connor must choose between love and family, between honor and obligation, before Chicago disappears forever.

“Wild Hunger” is an excellent and fascinating start to the “Chicagoland Vampires” spin off series “Heirs of Chicagoland” It continues with the fascinating and well developed world with the brilliant mix of characters from the previous series and new ones. All of which are all really strong, compelling characters that easily draw readers in and hold them captive throughout the book.

Elisa has a dark secret and the only person she trusts with that secret is Gabriel Keene, who she has always had a sort of frienemy relationship. That relationship adds romance to the story as they both slowly realize that there may just be more between them and readers can practically feel the chemistry sizzling between them, but the relationship has a few obstacles which keeps readers in suspense of just what will become of that attraction.

The smooth flowing plot is fast paced and full of twists that surprise readers during all of the thrills and excitement that takes place during the story, starting with the assassination of a diplomat and continuing with lots of intrigue, unknown enemies, rising tensions between the supernaturals and magical mysteries and battles which ensures that the readers never have a chance to become bored. There is also additional intrigue and interest involving Elisa and her dark secret and also with Lulu and her magic which further draws readers in and ensures that they want to know more.

There was no way that I could put “Wild Hunger” down, once I began reading and I really excited about that because this was one highly anticipated book and it seems that this new series will live up to the fascinating and wonderful world of the previous one. “The Heirs of Chicagoland” is off to a thrilling start and it definitely ensures that readers will want more.

A Stay Up All Night Read
Until We're More - Cindi Madsen

I haven't had such a good time reading a romance in a long time. Snark, spark, history, lust, and true friendship between two fantastic likable characters makes this story rock. I was cheering on one page, sniffling the next, snorting and spitting my coffee all over on the third. What a ride.

Sexy MMA fighter Liam, is training to get the belt title that will make his business a solid thing when his BFF Chelsea comes back  in town for work. Chelsea is a distraction and he needs this belt. Chelsea needs to stay focused too, she's desperate to make it in her field of work and this job might be the way to a promotion. Both need to be a success, both have hormones/feelings/history that mess with their focus. The Chelsea moves in with Liam and brings George. Who is George ? George is the one throwing up on the carpet. Read the book, he's fantastic. Living together makes for some interesting moments. That's all you'll get out of me, read it if you want more.

Thank you NetGalley and publishers   for this review copy and an unbiased opinion

Review: A Duchess in the Dark by Kate McKinley
A Duchess in the Dark - Kate McKinley

Reviewed for Wit and Sin

Daphne Hayward is determined to marry a man her brother-in-law doesn’t approve of, so she sets out to secure her future by sliding into bed with the man she wants to wed. Only she unknowingly winds up in the bed of Ashton Fitzgerald, Duke of Claymore. Their night together is phenomenal, but when each discovers who their mysterious bed partner is, they’re in for one heck of a surprise. Though she’s attracted to Ashton, Daphne has no interest in wedding a man every woman swoons over. Only Ashton isn’t about to give Daphne up so easily…

A case of mixed-up bedrooms can either lead to ruin or utter happiness in A Duchess in the Dark. Kate McKinley’s first By Invitation Only book is fast-paced, fun, and sexy, making for a perfect afternoon escape from reality. While Daphne and Ashton’s romance is definitely spicy, it’s also incredibly sweet and that’s what makes the book stand out for me. Ashton’s good looks are the least important part of his character. He’s kind, caring, protective, and non-judgmental, which makes him a really appealing hero. I was rooting for him to win Daphne over because they clearly fit. A Duchess in the Dark is a fairly short novella, so it’s a bit of a whirlwind love story, but that was fine by me. The dialogue was sprightly, the characters likeable, and the romance an excellent mix of sensual and sweet. I was charmed by Daphne and Ashton’s story and I look forward to reading the rest of the By Invitation Only series.

FTC Disclosure: I received this book for free from the publisher in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.
