Medium, Sweet, Extra Shot of Geek by R. Cooper
Medium, Sweet, Extra Shot of Geek - R. Cooper

Former soldier Octavio “Tavio” Reyes works as a barista, a favorite with the customers—especially Tommy O’Shaughnessy. An avowed geek, Tommy comes in daily to flirt, usually under the guise of Trekkie talk. Tavio hesitates; now that he's out of the army, he’s not sure how out he should be, or whether to take his chances on a geek devoted to sci-fi and comic books. But when Tommy compares him to an unemotional Vulcan, Tavio finally considers dating an out-and-proud nerd. Then Tommy surprises him again and introduces him to his daughter, whom Tommy loves even more than Star Trek or Tavio. Now Tavio has a whole new decision to make: Is he ready to romance a family man?

Review

Oh, R. Copper, you frustrate me. As always the writing, situation and characters are gorgeous. This romance is hot and sweet and everything good and compelling.

It is a slow burn. I don't mind that we get a fade to black sex scene (though okay I prefer not) but I needed more scenes after they started dating. More! lol

One Sentence Review – Eclipse Lake by Mae Clair @maeclair1
Eclipse Lake - Mae Clair

.Eclipse Lake

Goodreads  /  Amazon US  /  Amazon UK  /  Amazon CA

MY ONE SENTENCE REVIEW

Eclipse Lake is a fully developed story with complex characters and detailed descriptions of a small town called Onyx, that is character driven, with romance the spotlight and suspense being the dot on the I, making me believe in second chances.

Animated Animals. Pictures, Images and Photos 5 Stars

GOODREADS BLURB

Small towns hold the darkest secrets.

Fifteen years after leaving his criminal past and estranged brother behind, widower Dane Carlisle returns to his hometown on the banks of sleepy Eclipse Lake. Now, a successful businessman, he has kept his troubled past a secret from most everyone, including his seventeen-year-old son.

But memories in small towns are bitter and long.

Ellie Sullivan, a nature photographer for a national magazine, has a habit of ping-ponging across the map. Her latest assignment leads her to Eclipse Lake where she becomes caught up in the enmity between Dane, his brother Jonah, and a vengeful town sheriff. When freshly-discovered skeletal remains are linked to an unsolved murder and Dane’s past, Ellie is left questioning her growing attraction for a man who harbors long-buried secrets.

BLOG TOUR, REVIEW & #GIVEAWAY - Trusting Him (Bromley Brothers #1) by Laura N. Andrews
Trusting Him - Claire Smith,Hot Tree Editing,Laura N. Andrews
Trusting Him is the first book in a new series by Laura N. Andrews. In this story, we meet the brothers but concentrate on Trey, the youngest of the Bromley Brothers. To be fair, my first impression of him wasn't that good, when he mouths off at a bouncer just because the bouncer won't speak to him. However, this does lead up to the rest of the story, so it was forgiven once I got into the story itself.

This is a 'cute' story (although I am loathe to use that term!) There is some low angst, caused by misunderstanding and miscommunication, but there is also lots of support too. The characters are all well-rounded, with their own individual personalities. Trey is a highly strung individual who is balanced out by David. It doesn't appear that his brothers will be quite as highly strung, but I'm sure that their secrets will be revealed in due time.

Trusting Him is very well written, with no editing or grammatical errors that disrupted my reading flow. The scenes change smoothly, the storyline is smooth, and the whole thing was a delight to read. I loved delving into the world of the Bromley Brothers and can't wait to continue their stories. Definitely recommended by me.

A Wolf's Love: A Paranormal Romance Short Read (Flame #5.5) by Caris Roane
A Wolf's Love - Caris Roane
A Wolf's Love is a short story addition to the Flame series. Cole and Lauren were together, until Lauren did something that Cole couldn't accept, and he called it off. However, when a teenager is kidnapped, Cole is the one that Lauren turns to, even though he refuses to help (at first). What follows is the two of them putting another's needs before their own, and working together to save her.

As with all Caris Roane's books, this is very well-written. It may only be a short story, but a full story is here. Nothing has been skimped on, instead you can settle in for a very good read. Personally, I would recommend that you start at book one, just to get the full enjoyment of the world of the Flame, but it isn't fully necessary. You 'could' read them in any order and as a standalone, but I do feel that you would miss something out of this well-developed world. With no editing or grammatical errors to disrupt my reading flow, I can highly recommend this short story.

Release Day Review! Beneath the Skin (de La Vega Cats # 3) by Lauren Dane
Beneath the Skin - Lauren Dane

Previously published; newly refreshed by author

Fall in love with the de La Vega cat shifters in this classic paranormal romance from
New York Times bestselling author Lauren Dane, a spin-off of the fan-favorite Cascadia Wolves series

Sometimes justice comes with blood…

Mia Porter came home to Boston to recover, but her military reflexes kick in when a fellow jaguar is gunned down only inches away. Getting the handsome stranger to safety and removing the bullets is the easy part...discovering she’s saved a member of the very family hers has been at war with for half a century makes things tricky.

Nor is she pleased her cat finds his to be quite an attractive specimen.

Gibson de La Vega, Bringer of Justice, enforces his Alpha’s law and defends de La Vega territory against all. But even he’s not immune to silver bullets. That Gibson feels the same burning desire for Mia only complicates matters.

Negotiating an end to an epic familial feud is nothing compared to the violence sparked by the attack on Gibson. As heat and need build between them, Mia and Gibson will fight together to protect their families from a danger far closer to home than anyone expects.

This book is approximately 55,000 words

One-click with confidence. This title is part of the Carina Press Romance Promise
: all the romance you’re looking for with an HEA/HFN. It’s a promise!

Once again the de La Vega Cats give readers some serious red hot romance with action and suspense.

Neither Mia nor Gibson suspected that Mia saving Gibson’s life would lead to something special, so the relationship between begins with a dramatic event and slowly builds into their happily ever after as they get to know each other. But you know romance is one thing and chemistry is something else altogether different and this couple has some sizzling chemistry from the first sight. The characters are well written and the readers just fall into their story from the get go making this an easy to read but impossible to put down book.

The de La Vegas once again find themselves facing hatemongers and an enemy that they didn’t see coming as the suspense and action keeps readers on the edge of their seat. There is also a tense situation that stems from the past which complicates Mia and Gibson’s growing relationship which adds a bit of drama to the story as well as adding depth to the characters as a group.

Again, N.J. Walters has provided a well written story that never has a dull moment and characters that I couldn’t help but fall in love with and I can’t wait to find out what she has in store for us next.

Beneath the Skin is the second book in the de La Vega Cats series
