Her Scottish Mistake - Michele de Winton

Janie is on a couples retreat vacation by herself She ;loves science and is an aspiring blogger. She is a small town girl from Texas who takes care of her father and brothers. Janie works at a small petting zoo handling snakes.  . Her boyfriend and cheated with her best friend and they were now to marry and she had even been invited and she had no intention of going to that wedding. So instead she was a ten day dream vacation in Thailand. Away from ex's,- boyfriend and bestfriend and their wedding date. She is by the pool and bumps into Blaine and spills her Pina Colada all over him. Janie invites him to her room to clean him up. Blaine is a well known personality in his own country of Scotland, who is hiding out from the Paparazzi  but Janie doesn’t know that. Blaine is happy to find someone who isn’t out to exploit him and is a real person. Blaine gives Janie the fake name Bevan. Janie and Blaine decide to spend their vacation together even though Blaine is suspicious of everyone. Janie finds out Blaine lied to her about who he was now she has to decide what to do. Janie couldn’t seem to resist Blaine. Blaine would do anything for his brother after the upbringing they had. Blaine had always been his brothers protector then and now always would be. Blaine got out of the spotlight to keep his brother safe. He also has to play fake fiance to a woman who isn’t helping his image. Press makes out that Janie trying to get her moment of fame being with Blaine and he doesn’t take that well. Blaine’s agent does manage to get them to a very private resort.

I enjoyed this book a lot. I lied it was a nice building romance. I laughed at times while reading this book. I loved the adventure Blaine and Janie had. I didn’t like the lie but understood why Blaine did it. However Janie calling her female parts Miss muffin annoyed me after a bit. Also when Janie kept referring to her ovaries . Why didn’t Blaine’s agent get him to that very private resort sooner? I did enjoy the descriptions of Thailand also. I didn't really feel the connection between Blaine and Janie until the end. I like janie still went on her dream vacation even if she had been hurt and was alone. I also liked that Janie didn’t run when her world got all topsy turvy. I did like the ending and the twists. This did have my attention from the beginning until the end. I liked the plot and pace too. I liked the characters and the ins and outs of this book and I recommend.

not for me
Ride All Night - Michele de Winton

Beth’s montra was she was a strong, confident woman with real talent and a future in Hollywood. She worked at a biker bar called Wilde while she was waiting for one of the many auditions she had went  to would pay off. Beth’s idol was Mae West.  Grim’s voice did things to Beth. Beth decided she was going to tell Grim tonight why they should be together. Grim wasn’t a biker but portrayed one and he was coming to Wilde’s to do research. Grim was known to be a playboy in Hollywood. Beth thought Grim could help her get her break in Hollywood. Grim had left the bar and Beth decided to seduce him and went to his room. Beth’s polio vaccine had failed and she had gotten the disease as a baby. It had took multiple  operations over the years and a bunch of titanium hardware and a lot of physical therapy to get her walking on her own. Beth goes to the room Grim is suppose to be at and ends up in bed with Grim brother Rusty. Rusty doesn’t like the idea of Beth being with Grim but strings Beth along saying he would set Beth up with Grim. Rusty’s plan is to Beth pretend to be his office manager  to increase the ratings on the reality show about his garage. Rusty is a member of the Raising Hellfire MC.

I didn’t really like this book. I didn’t like how Beth seemed to care so much for her breasts. I didn’t connect with Beth as a character and didn’t really like her. I didn’t like how she hoped Grim would help her get a break in Hollywood. There really wasn’t a lot of positive in this book for me.

Ride All Night
Ride All Night - Michele de Winton A bad boy, a good girl and a chaotic attraction. Ride All Night surprised me. It was a refreshing story of mistaken identity, big star dreams and unspeakable lust. Beth, Grim and Rusty are the perfect blend of humor, angst and attraction. Beth is the girl with big star dreams, living an ordinary life. Enter Grim, the man that could be her free ride, if her attraction to his brother Rusty doesn't get in the way. Ms. De Winton packs on the laughter as she reels in the heart. I LOVED EVERY MINUTE!

good story and characters
Ride Me Right (Raising Hellfire MC) - Michele De Winton

Lucy couldn’t afford to replace the wrench that someone had taken. Not now that she doesn’t have a job or a place to live. Lucy knew this day was coming but kept hoping Gav would change his mind or something would come up but no such luck. Gav said no hard feelings it just wasn’t working out with her working there. Gav added he couldn’t stop bailing Lucy out. Lucy added that she didn’t expect Gav to. Lucy’s confidence turned to stone: no job, no apartment, no money for rent, and the promise she had made to her younger sister Katie that she would have the money for Katie’s glasses at the end of the week. Lucy was not going to let her fifteen year old sister miss out on being able to see because of their whacked out mother. Lucy might not have been the bot her father wanted but she also wasn’t the placid doormat her mom wanted either. Lucy was a great mechanic. The resident biker club was the Raising Hellfire MC. Lucy had been riding with the Hell’s Boys since she hit LA . Lucy had slept with a couple of the bikers and and got a rep so she stopped having sex which was a de stress mechanism for her. What Lucy wanted was the gig of fixing the Hell’s Boys bikes permanently. Lucy wanted to fix bikes the way she knew they wanted to be fixed. She wanted enough regular income that she could make sure her younger sister Katie was okay. Lucy knew Briony- who was the owner of Wilde’s- was the only friend she could rely on not to roll her eyes at the news Lucy had lost another job. Lucy was hoping someone  needed some work on a bike since since the Hell Boys didn’t have an official mechanic or maybe Briony might have something she could do for cash until Lucy could find other work to tide her over. Jake has a newly discovered sister in Briony and he was overseeing her hotel while Briony was on her honeymoon. Jake had lost his confidence after a tragic accident in his famous stuntman skills. Jake’s nickname had been Iceman and he had been in action movies. Jake is tormented with guilt as he made an error in judgement that ended with an accident and a  stuntwomen's death and decided to take some time off and reflect on his haunted past. Jake wonders after the accident if the stunt business is really for him. While at the hotel Lucy asked about a job and then ended up drunk and decides to take a dip in the pool. Luke sees her floating in the pool and thinks Lucy is drowning and rescues her.  Lucy decides to have a one night stand. When she wakes the next day she finds out Jake is her boss as she had got a job in Housekeeping  at least until Briony gets back. Lucy’s dream was to have her own bike shop. Jake and Lucy try to resist each other but when Lucy tries to harden herself toward Jake he melts her. Jake wants to help Lucy but Lucy is used to surviving on her own. Luke is protective of Lucy and wants to keep her safe no matter what he has to do.

I liked this book a lot. I liked how Lucy is trying to make it with something she does even if it’s a male dominated field. This is a great read and has a good plot and pace. But I didn’t like how the author referred to the MC as a  gang. I like Jake and Lucy together. I also felt  that Katie added to this story even if she didn’t have a large part. At time it was a little hard to like Lucy. I did like the action in the book. I also enjoyed watching Lucy grow. There a bit too much misunderstanding and miscommunication in this book. I loved the twists. This story does pull you in and doesn’t let go. I loved the characters and the twists and turns and I recommend.

On the run from her worst mistake, Janie decides to take a little break. An exotic location, a sexy stranger and surprises are on the agenda when she meets Blaine.
