I did not want to stop listening to this story. Mayra is a wonderful character. I found her honesty refreshing throughout the story as well as her need to help others. She grew up knowing she did not have a choice in a husband, but she did her best to change that. Logan was sweet even as he was deceiving Mayra. My heart went out to both of them as they dealt with their situation, and the ending had tears in my eyes.

'A Chance to Love a Highlander' by S. R. Mitchell is book Three in The "Highland Chance" series. This is the story of Elle and Mikel. I have read the other books but feel that it did help me to enjoy this one better but you can make this a standalone book. Also note this is a time travel type of story.
Elle and her sister Anna were separated and Anna thought that Elle had died. But Elle made it to MacDavrett Castle where Anna is with her husband Hamish. Mikel lives there too. Although they have never 'met' in person Mikel and Elle shared dreams. There they both got to know each other but when Elle shows up in the physical form it gives Mikel a shock. Mikel at first didn't seem to want to claim her but he couldn't stay away.

'To Love A Highlander' by Donna Fletcher is book One in the series " Highland Warriors". This is the story of Espy and Craven Laird of the Clan MacCara.
Espy is the granddaughter of the clans healer and her father was a doctor of sorts. When she cannot save Craven's wife and child during the birth he is enraged. Craven almost kills her but turns to banish her from the Clan. Espy is heartbroken for the lost and for any hurt that she might have done. But now that time has past and with greater evil after her she goes back to the Clan in hopes that time has healed Craven's hatred.
Time has soften the blow some of his great lost but Craven was slow after first to accept Espy back. But with her being back has brought new feelings to him...will he trust her and his feelings again?

There is no question for me when I see Ms. Fletcher's name on a book. I know I must have it! Ms. Fletcher draws you into the story and you go through the emotions of the story with the characters as it happens.

'Love with a Scottish Outlaw" by Gayle Callen is Book Three in the "Highland Weddings". This is the story of Duncan Carlyle and Catriona Duff. I have read the previous book but feel this is easily a standalone book.
Duncan finds Cat along the way home injured and her not even knowing her name. Duncan knows who Cat is...the daughter of Earl of Aberfoyleis, but keeps it to himself. Earl of Aberfoyle is Duncan's enemy. The man that has made Duncan and his men go underground because they tried to stand up to Earl of Aberfoyle when Duncan found him kidnapping and selling children as slaves. Duncan does take her in to help her heal and tries to fight he growing feelings.
Cat wakes up hurt with a few dead men and with no knowledge of who she is. Cat tries to make the best of what has happened to her. But what will she say when she finds out Duncan has been lying to her?
