Clifford's Halloween - Norman Bridwell
For more reviews, check out my blog: Craft-Cycle

While I did really enjoy reading this book, I gave it 3 stars because I read the original book, which features Clifford in an Indian costume and a boy dressed as a hobo. I have heard the Indian costume has been changed in the newer publications of the book, but it's definitely something to keep in mind when considering the book.

I thought the pace of the book was good and it was great for major holiday identification and association such as Valentine's Day, Easter, and Christmas. Other holidays less popularly featured in picture books were also shown (New Year and April Fool's).

Good pairing of the illustrations with the narration in chronicling all of the hilarious situations Clifford winds up in while celebrating Halloween.

Clifford, The Big Red Dog (Turtleback School & Library Binding Edition) - Norman Bridwell,Norman Bridwell

One of those beloved children's classics that never seem to get old or tired. A story about a little girl that loves her giant dog. This book can be used in a lesson about description or adjectives. Or just a fun story that most kids can relate to (who doesn't like dogs?).

Lexile: 360

Reading Level: k-2nd grade

An adorable book that perfectly sums up what people love about Clifford. He makes mistakes sometimes, but his intentions are always good.

A very nice story about Clifford doing his best to help out. Funny pictures and a cute story.

Oops, Clifford! - Norman Bridwell

A cute book about the love between a girl and her dog, flaws and all.

This is a simple book that runs through some of Clifford's oops moments. The illustrations are very funny and there is a nice message through the book that it's okay to make mistakes, as long as your intentions are good.

An adorable book with great pictures. Classic Clifford.

Clifford Makes a Friend (Hello Reader, Level 1) - Norman Bridwell
For more reviews, check out my blog: Craft-Cycle

This is a Level 1 reader. It is very simple and repetitive, good for kids learning to read. There are tons of sight words and easy words to sound out.

But there isn't really any story. There are good examples of action labels (see, run, jump), but no real plot.

I was more confused with the lack of detail. Who is the boy? Where is Emily Elizabeth?

Simple first reader, but just okay.
