I don't like Pandas but this was good
The Smithsonian Book of Giant Pandas - John Seidensticker,Susan Lumpkin

I'm not a huge fan of panda bears. They just sit there. And considering how hard it is for them to mate, it doesn't even see like they want to save themselves. So why did I buy this? Well, I was at the National Zoo and it was a two for one thing. S0 this was the one.

It's actually very good. There is a history of the panda at the National Zoo, a discussion of the breeding programs (including the work in China), as well as quite a few photos. They even tell you how to tell the difference between the pandas.

Please, Mr. Panda - Steve Antony
Please, Mr. Panda - Steve Antony

It isn't possible that I should walk by a picture book about pandas, penguins, or cats without giving it a close look. This one includes a lemur, which is pure bonus points. I don't care much for picture books that have a MORAL, but this doesn't read like that at all. Fun art, cute doughnuts, and a snippy panda. It's good.

Informational Text
National Geographic Readers: Pandas - Anne Schreiber

I would use this in my second grade classroom to teach them about animals. Every kid loves animals and it is a great way to learn about pandas (by the way, they are my favorite) and enhance our reading abilities! The National Geographic would be an awesome subscription to use in the classroom because they cover everything and it is great informational text put into a form that children enjoy!

Dear Panda - Miriam Latimer
Dear Panda - Miriam Latimer

Moving and going to a new school is one of those difficult things for many children. The lesson over shadows the story towards the end, but hey, it's about a girl and her panda friend. I want a panda friend, too.
