The Promise - Ann Weisgarber
A Lily Among Thorns - Rose Lerner
The Toymaker - Kay Springsteen
Blood and Snow - RaShelle Workman
Stone Devil Duke - K.J. Jackson
A Study in Silks - Emma Jane Holloway
Frank: The Voice - James Kaplan
His Saving Grace - Sharon Cullen

Seriously been buying at least one book a day through Bookbub.

Okay, I dropped the ball and did not give why I added these books. So lets try this again.

The Promise by Ann Weisgarber had a different cover when I picked it up from the NOOK store. Cover lust is an addiction.

A Lily Among Thorns by Rose Lerner because I really like how Lerner went the Courtney Milan route to Regency historical romance by not having everyone be titled. Also, that dress (cover lust #2).

The Toymaker by Kay Springsteen sounds like holiday fun. The Duke doesn't want to be a duke, he wants to make toys. Beta heroes are my non-cover weaknesses.

Blood and Snow by RaShelle Workman was a choice heavily influenced by watching Once Upon a Time and now wanting to read all fairy tale type of stories. I can't tell if this is the beginning of a serial or a series.

Stone Devil Duke by K.J. Jackson because the cover was better in the NOOK store (cover lust #3).

A Study in Silks (Baskerville Tales #1) by Emma Jane Holloway finally went on sale and I wasted no time picking this up. I am storing it for when I get all the books so I can read without waiting for a new book to come out. So far I have this one and the anthology of short stories that fit in between the novels.

Frank: The Voice by James Kaplan because I love Sinatra's movies and music and the man himself. This is the most recommended of Sinatra's biography and at the sale price was a steal!

His Saving Grace by Sharon Cullen because this Regency romance is about rekindling/repairing a marriage, so no virgin debs looking to snare a titled bachelor trope.

Great Story, Great Characters
Undercover Empath: Kindred Demon - RaShelle Workman

**I received an ARC of this story in exchange for an honest review**
Lola was a stripper. Her real name was Leslie. He drugged her and took her from the strip club. The demon knew she'd only been in the area a short time. Demons had all the wrong wicked desires humans did, but without a body they couldn't act on them. Rose Hansen was a detective at the age of 19. Jack was her ex-boyfriend and partner. She lost her mom during her formative years. A man knocked on her door, no shoes or shirt, had a manilla envelope for her, and told her he knew she needed to know who murdered her parents.
Rose was very very naive in a lot of ways, but a very dedicated person. She could be determined. She didn't really have anybody there for her. She grew through the twists and turns of this story.
I loved the characters, story and plot, but the story finished way too soon. I truly hope this story is continued in another book. I would definitely read it. I highly recommend to anyone that likes this genre.

The Vampire Christopher - RaShelle Workman

A quick and easy read.

Overall, I felt it was okay. The pace was a little slower than the first two books and it didn't really feel like much happened. The characters are still underdeveloped and unrealistic.

A short story that goes fast, but isn't very engaging.

Blood and Snow - RaShelle Workman

Very similar in style to Twilight with a Snow White twist. Insecure, normal looking girl who somehow attracts the attention of every breathing male around her including her seven neighbors/best friends. These best friends are somehow all super hunky and would do anything for Snow. None of them really have their own personalities; they all kind of lump together in the role of super hot male protectors.

The plot was interesting and I definitely plan to read the next book. But the writing style and character development (or lack thereof) are pretty predictably given that I got this for free from the Kindle store. Very simplistic language and no depth to any of the characters, the story is more plot focused.

The book is very short, only consisting of ten small chapters. It makes for a good quick read.

Blood and Snow Volumes 1-4: Blood and Snow, Revenant in Training, The Vampire Christopher, Blood Soaked Promises - RaShelle Workman

"Lips red as rubies, hair dark as night. Drink your true love's blood; become the Vampire, Snow White."

See, this is why I can't go looking for new free books at three in the morning. This is the sort of thing I wake up in the morning and discover that apparently I am partway through reading. Vegan modern-day Snow White who has seven hot male best friends living in a mansion next door and also has dreams about becoming a Vampire (no, I have no clue why that is capitalized. But it is. Every single time.)

The worst thing is that I think I am probably going to finish it. Just out of sheer curiosity. Also, maybe I am completely mis-judging it and it will get fabulous sometime after the 10% mark?
