Rock Chick Revolution by Kristen Ashley
Rock Chick Revolution - Kristen Ashley

Ally was my least favourite Rock Chick from the start. But this book showed her in a new light. She had brains and knew when to back off and let the others help. She still got in my nerves from time to time and there were too many sex scenes in this story, but I actually liked the last book of the series quite a lot. 4 stars.

Rock Chick By Kristen Ashley $1.99 Love this series!
Rock Chick - Kristen Ashley

Indy Savage, cop's daughter, rock chick and used bookstore owner, has been in love with Lee Nightingale, once bad boy, now the man behind Nightingale Investigations, since she was five years old. No matter what ingenious schemes Indy used to capture his attention, Lee never showed an interest and Indy finally gave up. Now Indy's employee, Rosie, has lost a bag of diamonds and bad guys are shooting at him. When Indy gets involved, Lee is forced to help. Complicting matters, Lee has decided he's interested, Indy's decided she's not. But she can't seem to keep Lee out of her life when she's repeatedly stun gunned, kidnapped and there are car bombs exploding (not to mention she's finding dead bodies).

Indy's best bet is to solve the mystery of the diamonds before Lee. Lee's challenge is to keep Indy alive and, at the same time, win back her heart

"5 - Golden Sparkly Hearts!"

photo gold hearts.jpg

One of the most amazing things that's supposed to happen in art is when an artist (whether it be a musician, dancer, painter or author)connects with their audience (even if it's just one person because thankfully we all have unique, and individual tastes in what we like) and they're able to capture their audience and share their gift.
I've heard and seen so many people over the years put down the romance genre.
I've seen readers be embarrassed to admit they were reading a romance novel because they feared they would be judged and considered dumb for liking such things, but what people tend to forget is that any art form that can take a person from their mundane life (even if it's thru a 4 minute song, a painting, a play, or a well-written story) and let them escape into that moment for a spell... then they've succeeded in giving their gift and the audience has been blessed to have been a receiver of that gift.

This book.....is classic Kristen Ashley gold.
It's stories like this one that I started reading her wonderful tales in the first place.

KA starts this book with a prologue giving her readers a beginning to Daisy's life. How she grew up, and what she endured to explain the reason she's the person she is today.

"You get older, you'll find your style. And don't you let anyone tell you what that is. You're a good girl in a way I know you'll always be a good girl. Be proud of that. Good posture. Chin up. Show your pride, sugar. Be who you are however that evolves and don't let anyone cut you down." - Miss Annamae

This story focuses on a terrible tragedy that almost destroys her and all she wants to see is darkness, but alas she has someone looking out for her who wants her to see beauty, and begin to heal.

Daisy's healing all started with simple bouquets of daisies

Marcus Sloan is a clever man.
He's a loyal man.
He's a scary, dangerous man.
He also protects what he considers his, and he considers Daisy his, "...he's waited 35 years for her" so he handles her with care.

I loved how Marcus courted Daisy.
I loved how patient he was with her.
and... I loved how he handled her with such care, gave her the time she needed, and treated her like she was the most precious person in the world to him (which she is).
With Marcus being the person he is, and giving Daisy what she needed. Daisy was finally able to feel safe and heal.

"... Something else my sister taught me. If you give it, you don't blink at giving someone you care about something they need or want. No matter how deep it cuts, how much it costs, how steep the price might be in a different way. It's an honor and it's a blessing. So giving you the things I can give you means I'm honored and blessed Daisy. Please don't take that away from me."
-Marcus Sloan

Wonderful story.
I was engaged, engrossed, entertained, and moved.

In classic Kristen Ashley manner, she wrote a freaking kick-ass epilogue that had me laughing and crying at the same time.
Even now I'm thinking about the scene in Marcus and Ren's office where Daisy gives Marcus some news and his reaction to it.

Rock Chick
Rock Chick - Kristen Ashley 3 stars

"We gotta talk. Do you think Betty and Veronica here can keep an eye on these two?"

"I get to be Veronica," Ally said instantly.

I turned to her. "Why do you get to be Veronica?" I didn't want to be Betty, Betty was a doormat. Veronica had attitude.

"I'm so Veronica," Ally said in answer.

I LOVE the Rock Chicks!
Rock Chick Reawakening - Kristen Ashley

I LOVE the Rock Chicks!! Kristen Ashley brought me right back into the Rock Chick and Hot Bunch world with this book. She's one of my all time favorite authors because of her unique style and hilarious and descriptive way with words. I've read the entire Rock Chick Series more than once and I was always curious about Marcus and Daisy's past. I'm beyond ecstatic that Ms. Ashley wrote their amazing story! Now, I'll probably go back to the beginning and read the whole series again. Daisy is loud, brash and wonderfully colorful and unique. I loved her southern style. Marcus can be stone cold scary but he's a sweetheart with Daisy and even though they seem to be totally wrong for each other, Marcus and Daisy are just perfect together! This one goes on my READ AGAIN E-SHELF! Told from dual POVs with a fantastic ending!
