Well, June is done. Today is my birthday, which means it's the first day of July! Huzzah! This has always been my favorite month. Birthday celebrations, fireworks, big barbeques, and long, warm evenings. I'm so very ready for all of that.
Spongebob here sums up how I feel about my June reading. With the exception of one book, which I feel will likely languish for a long while since it's SO slow, I finished my June TBR. Woohoo!
As you can see above, I took on a lot of review books for July. That's not even all of them, just the ones I'm most looking forward to :). *wipes brow* I have a good feeling though. Let's hope some of these are gems!
Can I just state, for the record, how un-fuckably-frustrating it is to do any kind of design change on the blog here? I tender my most sincere apologies to Blogger for bitching this morning when I was creating my new design over there. Because trying to do anything here is like comparing the USS Enterprise NC-1701E to a horse and buggy as a mode of transportation. Or an air-powered nail gun to a rock. Dial up to OC192. You get the idea.
The blog here should be user friendly. I am not a tech wizard, but I do know a little bit and I can't get anything right. NOTHING! And it's un-fucking-believably s-l-o-w. I have to step away because I'm so close to doing a Hulk smash.
I read another book in this series last year: Super Secret Crisis War. And since the Powerpuff Girls always were my favourite Cartoon Network series, I was glad to see they made a sequel.
I enjoyed this story even more (I always like the nostalgic feeling I get from reading it, it's a trip down memory lane for me) but the story in this one was more coherent and there was a better explanation for there being different universes with different drawing styles. All the favourite characters make their appearances but the focus lays on the Powerpuff Girls and Dexter and his sister.
I would like to read more of their joint adventures!
Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for providing me with a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review!
