Rating: 5 out of 5 stars! Having already loved Richelle Mead's Vampire Academy series, I decided to check out her other books as well. Her Georgina Kincaid Series has everything I love in a book:
- a snarky heroine
- love of books/reading
- paranormal romance
- hot, steamy scenes
- and a loveable introvert geek who steals your heart.
Georgina Kincaid is a succubus living in modern times. She loves to read and works as an Asst. Manager at a bookstore within walking distance of her apartment. How perfect is that? She's obsessed with a mysterious author - Seth Mortensen. who rarely does public appearances.
What a great opportunity that he's coming to her bookstore to do a book signing. Finally, she gets to meet her idol and talk about the series she loves so much. But before Georgina can get into things, supernatural beings around her are showing up dead - the one you don't come back from.
First, there was Duane, a vampire who threatened her. She gets immediately put as a suspect, but soon clears her name. But when another supernatural who she tangles with ends up dead, it's pretty clear Georgina's somehow connected to the murders.
Georgina's boss, Jerome, along with his friend, Carter (an angel) must both work together and find out who's killing off the supernatural beings in their area.
Georgina starts an investigation of her own, all while trying to juggle her awkward relationship she has with Seth, where she constantly puts her foot in her mouth, making for a very funny and enjoyable read.
Then there's Roman, the incredibly sexy guy who just pops into her life at just the right moment. There's something irresistible about him and in between adorable Seth and Roman, Georgina can't keep things together.
Georgina longs to have love and a relationship, but her succubus powers totally won't let that be. She drains the life force of any human man she touches, lessening their life. Her powers grows if the human man is sinning or an evil man. So it's hard to keep a boyfriend for long under those circumstances.
Still, both Seth and Roman capture her heart and lady parts respectively, but she just can't allow herself to give into her feelings.
Will Georgina ever find a remedy to her situation or will the rampant killer on the loose get to her first?

Richelle Mead writes this book perfectly. I just loved the flashbacks to Georgina's mortal life and how she became a succubus. Plus, her eclectic group of supernatural friends and human friends just made the book for me.
The only thing I was a little put off with was Warren. I totally could've lived without that tidbit in the book, or at least a fade to black scene would have definitely worked for me.
Plus, the end totally made me tear up with happy/sad tears. OMG so emotional - I loved it! Can't wait to read what happens next :)
