MARA DYER: SAVOIR AND AVENGER OF ABUSED PIT BULLS! She just became one of my favorite YA characters ever, from that one act.

Also, was wrong about her taking medication, sighs. I misread it. I really wish authors would stop writing situations about mental conditions and illnesses while being so anti-care. Meds, by the way, are not "mind-altering substances." They're not narcotics.

Still loving this. The supernatural aspect is great fun!

Feeling this so far, and it's been one I've been meaning to check out for a while. Not really feeling Noah, but we'll see. Also? A short-term psychiatric care facility actually saved my brother's life at 16, so Mara being so terrified of it, and so angry with her mother for advocating it, seems silly to me. At least she's taking meds, hallelujah!
