Yeah, we're going to have another little ramble here. You see recently audible.com offered their members the change to have access to a fair number of the romance audio books that they offer for a set monthly price it's a similar plan to what amazon offers for e-books and they were nice enough to let members have a 30 day free trial and after that the rate still made for a very tempting offer given that on average I would have paid more simply by purchasing even one audio books so of course I decided that further investigation was needed that was 2 months ago and me and their romance package are still going strong and it was while I was perusing these books that I stumbled across this little gem.
While the author, Susanne Saville is new to me. I admit it was the narrator who caught my eye...yeah, that's right we're talking about Greg Tremblay here and there was that wonderful little purple box with an 'R' in the corner that told me I could add this one to my library and listen to it without undue stress to my poor abused credit card so 'hell yeah!' I was in.
Now since this started because of Greg Tremblay let me just have a little babble about him first. Without fail whether I love, like or even loathe the book this narrator has never left me feeling disappointed. I feel fairly confident when I say that any book he's narrated that I've had an issue with it wasn't the narration. The man knows his stuff and he's fan-freakin'-tastic at what he does. But at just over one hour with this one...he basically blew me away with his narration. Seriously that's it that's all there is to this story 1 hour, 15 minutes start to finish.
Now add to this the fact that this new to me author Susanne Saville has written a story that while it's essentially a complete story, it's also left me seriously wanting more from these two characters.
Professional assassin, Dmitri Dzerzhinsky has been walking the line between right and wrong for a while now because FBI agent Thomas Dalton holds way more interest for him than is healthy for a man in his profession and he knows this has to change. So Dmitri goes to 1Night Stand thinking that a little help from this highly reputed and discreet company is just what he needs. Arranging to have a one night stand with a Thomas Dalton stand-in turns out to be anything but what Dmitri was looking for.
When Thomas discovers that Dmitri's plan...Thomas makes plans of his own. Plans that with any luck will give both Thomas and Dmitri more than one night with the man of their dreams.
I loved this story I'm not really sure what I was expecting when I started it but what I got was a story that had me sitting up and taking notice. I was both surprised and impressed by the amount of information and emotion that was fit into so little time. Sadly this appears to be the only M/M book by this author and it's release date shows as 2015 so I would have to say that this is probably the end of the road for Dmitri, Thomas and I...mores the pity I do believe we could have had a wonder relationship, but alas 'twas not to be...however, if you're looking for something short, steamy and packed with interest and narrated by one superb narrator...seriously, give this one a try and if you happen to have taken advantage of audibles romance package you can do it for nothing...zip, zero, nada just the click of a button and you to can enjoy this little gem.
Psst, just so you know my little ramble about the romance package on audible is just that my little ramble. I've not been asked or offered any remuneration for this and honestly Audible has no idea I'm having this little ramble so this is just me sharing what's so far proven to be an awesome listening opportunity with you...nothing more.
