Two hundred and sixty years is beyond the acceptable limits of a timeskip. It was a wholly unnecessary and incredibly jarring way to end a rather enjoyable book.
The book was predictable, very lack luster, boring, none of the characters really jumped out at me, and it was weird. The premise of the book seemed really interesting but the author failed to present her ideas in an exciting way.
