The Perfect Couple - Elin Hilderbrand

What a fantastically sad ending!! Not a crying one, but one that really kicks you in the gut because of some characters actions to what they thought was a problem that wasn't going to be a problem at all.

Wow, so many suspects. Or may there were just one or two or many unknowingly helping in the demise of the victim. Or may there was just one attempt at murder that got the wrong victim. Or maybe it was just an accident after all. These are just some of the thought going through my head while I was reading this excellent read.

I have read several Elin Hilderbrand books and I cannot recall ever reading a mystery by her. If this actually was her first attempt at a mystery, she did an excellent job!!

Loved, loved, loved this book!

The Beach Club - Elin Hilderbrand

The Beach Club By Hilderbrand_ Elin
Hotel on the island and many come to work there to find love and other things.
Quite the mix of people work and come to stay for a bit during the warm summer months to be waited on hand and foot.
So many to follow and all the drama of the island.
Interesting to learn of all the jobs the men have to do prior to the sun rising so guests will have everything ready when they wake up and want to hit the beach.
Lovers, some cheat on spouses, one looking for a man to father her child, others looking for huge tips so they go out of their way to please the guests.
Things go awry and people leave as the summer goes on-some run off to other countries, some bail on the bill, some leave to try new ventures and then a hurricane is forecast to hit-only a little bit, or will it hit them full on?
Surprise ending for all.
I received this book from National Library Service for my BARD (Braille Audio Reading Device).

Winter Street by Elin Hilderbrand - My Thoughts
Winter Street - Elin Hilderbrand

This was not the book I was expecting but I quite enjoyed it!

I was expecting a heart-warming romance, typical of the season, but what I got was a family story filled with love, humour, drama, whimsy and fun.

The characters of the Quinn family are real and flawed and quite perfect in some ways.  All I can tell you is that I loved reading about them.  Dysfunctional doesn't quite cover it.  *LOL*  Oh, but they're a lot of fun, really.  I wanted to see the Christmas movie made of this novel.  It'd beat the Hallmark Christmas movies all to hell, I'm sure!

So, not quite a romance and not really a family saga.  It's a heart-warming novel, as they say, about a family coming home for Christmas and I found it hit the perfect spot.  And as such, this will close my Christmas reading for the year.  Always good to close on a good note.

The Identicals: A Novel - Elin Hilderbrand

The identicals by Elin Hilderbrand Have read many books from this author and have enjoyed them. This was start out with the identical twins and each lives on an island off the coast of MA. One living with their mother, the other with their father. Identical twins and they have pulled their pranks on teachers and boyfriends over the years. You get a lot of the back story as to how they ended up there and how one had a daughter who's a teen now in the story. Alternating chapters from them and also other family members. Due to the parents death they are drawn together and then a medical emergency where the two sisters kinda swap islands to accomplish what needs to be done. Romances and teen problems with drugs and drinking and breakups and finding their one soul mate but it's all a farce as they learn how they are related to the one couple that bring them all together. Lots of drama and I especially liked the island adventures and quiet spots and all about the fashion industry and what works. Also enjoyed the renovations and technical chat about that. Received this book from National Library Service for my BARD (Braille Audio Reading Device).

Winter Solstice (Winter Street) - Elin Hilderbrand,Erin Bennett

Wow!! I’m telling you right now after just finishing this book I have a warning. If you buy and read this, go ahead and pick up a box of tissues. You WILL need them. This was the 4th book in this series and I only found that out while reading the acknowledgments at the end of the book. I had absolutely no idea. To me, it read like the first in the series. AND I am confounded and lost that there will not be a sequel!!!

I absolutely loved this book and want more!!
